I have a 1970 swinger 340 4 speed and old mopar man was right on the money.I changed my spread from 5 1/4 to 6in and the car shifts great not even the slightest grind going into reverse though getting the over the center spring out was a little tough it was worth the time. :supz:

you can do it while its in the car but its a little more tricky

on my70 swinger i have a a-833 the trans shifts great but i have to push pedal almost to the floor to shift i have the general 1 1/4 play at top new rubber stop at top but i was wondering if this is as good as it gets or ami missing somthing thanks for help

the same thing happened to me the cause for me was i attached the reverse lever upside down to the trany the exact way you have it shown in your pics above try reversing your lever hopes this helps

Icould be wrong but this happend to me the cause was that i had my reverse lever attached to the trans upside down the pic with the pistol grip shifter above is the correct way check it out hope this helps
