72 Scamp from the Gold Country

Damn, beat me to it. :-D I'd go with a white vinyl top.

    ABodyBetty's new baby comes home!!!

I find doing bodywork and (especially) paint to be a very effective "bucket of cold water" poured over my natural inclination to perfectionism. I just don't have the skills (or disipline) to do as nice a job as I want to, so I end up with paint runs covering glops of bondo by the time I'm done...

    1969 Plymouth Valiant 2 door

Why am I not surprised in the least that it's green? Awesome score. Mind if I ask what you paid? Just curious how the price compares to what I was quoted at the junkyard on the one I found. ($120, plus pulling it, stripping it, and shipping it- seemed steep to me, but whadda I know..)

    Arizona Swinger

And you already know what I think.. I'm biased of course, because my first car ('70 Dart Custom sedan) was F8 w/ a white painted top, my father had a '69 Valiant Signet that was the same color w/ a matching vinyl top and interior when I was about 13 (I loved that thing)- and something about...

    Arizona Swinger

Two tone green inside and out :love7: and you're gonna paint it yellow? (A single tear slides down Slantsick's cheek as he chokes back a sob) Seriously, looks like a nice project.. and yes, you southwestern guys are definitely spoiled when it comes to rust.

    ABodyBetty's new baby comes home!!!

Ditto.. my wife and I were just talking the other evening about how we'd be glad to take BOF into our family for the 5 grand you originally asked- but as it happens, far from being in a position to help people like you and ABB, we are people like you and ABB. Our last unemployment check is half...

    ABodyBetty's new baby comes home!!!

Nice work, as always.. she's looking good. Another tip for keeping track of pushrods- scrounge a smallish cardboard box (shoebox, parts box, or even a cereal carton), poke 8/12/16 holes in it as needed, label, and insert the rods.

    i know i know, not a dodge

I can only assume that you're exaggerating, or there's something seriously wrong with your '89.. My daily driver is a '92, w/ 262k 300 six coupled to a 4x4/ auto tranny that slips like an epileptic jello wrestler; she's been abused her entire life and "poorly maintained" would be putting it...

Will do- I'll be in touch soon as I can.

    1969 Plymouth Valiant 2 door

Oh, almost forgot- awesome project.. I haven't seen a Valiant two-door (non-Scamp, anyway) in almost ten years.

    1969 Plymouth Valiant 2 door

Like this one, right? If you like, next time I go to the junkyard, I could ask them what they might want for the doorskin.. assuming it meets your requirements of course.

ABodyBetty's 1st Baby Comes Back Home!!!!

Ya know, if you're pressed for space, I've got a nice big barn and 25 acres- I could maybe help you out. :-D

ABodyBetty's 1st Baby Comes Back Home!!!!

Man, that's a great car. (Both of them, actually- I love the '67-'69 Dart more than any other Mopar I think)

ABodyBetty's 1st Baby Comes Back Home!!!!

I like the suggestion of naming her after the previous owner as well.. If she was done up in green rather than blue, I'd call her my dreamcar. :-D
