I'm in St Augustine - may hit a cruise or two in Jax over the Summer. JohnnyD - Car was gold. As far as the front end swap - no biggy, hood, fenders w/extensions, grill, bumper and bumper brackets, etc. I found a four-door 71 at a wrecking yard for 250 bucks, took what I needed off - sold...

Nope - buddy's booth (garage conversion), 60 gal compressor , Sata gun , Dupont Nason (never again, 5-6 coats to get coverage) Transtar Euro clear, nothing special. Like has been said over and over - guide coat, block, prime, guide coat, block, prime, repeat as necessary - it's all in the prep.

Would you believe my wife said I can't start on the 70 car yet because I need to get the freezer stocked with fish ? Not many women out there like that - "can't restore another car right now, we need you to go fishing more!". Maybe that's why I've been with her 24 years next week ! What if I...

That's me - don't watch much TV, don't read much, gotta keep moving or I go nuts. That's why I live in the sunny south - rarely a day when I can't be outdoors and/or in the garage. And yes, Craigslist is an addiction, no doubt.

Three shots from a drive tonight - you can see the sheen to the decal real well. Interior not quite done, temporary seats. Did the white gauge thing and replaced all woodgarain on dash and doors with a carbon fiber decal from the same source as the hood. Thanks for all the kind words. Also...

http://www.metrodecals.com/store/html/Products/Colored-Vinyl-Sheets-5/Matte-Flat-Black-Vinyl-92/index.html I bought a 4 x 6 piece, 29 bucks plus shipping (after spending over a hundred on flat blacks) I can't over-emphasize how good it looks. if I were to go on up across the cowl, that would...

Thanks, Peter - was hoping you'd spot the post - everybody loves the wheels - I think black would look good with the black/green theme. Hood tretment is actually a flat black decal material, just couldn't get the paints to "act" right (zebra stripes every time) I'll actually do the decal from...

It'll be hard to sell either way - hard to part with and hard to find a buyer (to meet "my reserve") We'll see later this fall - like to start on my other car this winter.

340/727/8.75 - Look close and you'll see no vent windows - it's a 73 with a 71 front clip, shaved my side markers and antenna. I'll try to get some interior shots in a few minutes (raining).

On to the next one (70 4-spd car) Thanks to all who helped along the way here. Three year project, wrapped it up this week, 99% of the resto done in the garage, here's a few before 'n afters (like you haven't seen enough of that) I'll enjoy it for the summer, then sell it to start the next !

my new project, triple black 71 wedge clone

They're no different than any other "one-stop shop". All of their tools are chinese (Harbor Freight twins) . I saw where Summit is selling their own paints and powder coats now - probably the same supplier as Eastwood's.

my new project, triple black 71 wedge clone

Don't need to "anodize" - there's black chrome powder coats now - someone Photoshop the Ebay car w/the black chrome dog dish look - I think it'd look bad (as in good). Eastwood's got the black chrome BTW.

Not the best conditions out there for sellers right now ... good luck. Your flat blacks look great, what did you use on the hood and is it the same on the Charger ? Any tips for shooting without "streaks" ? I'll be doing mine myself within a week or two. Thanks.

    skips 69 swinger resto

Sweeeeeet .. When you get a moment, what's backspacing on your wheels ? I'm running a similar package but 16's, had to use tubular LCA's to get front clearance but will be going 17's on next project due to tire availability (16's are about history) Thanks.
