Since you've replaced the battery and starter, I'd also start looking at other issues with the electrical system. It could be ungrounded, causing a slow dissipation trickle. You could also have a defective accessory or light fixture, basically anything that would be putting a constant drain on...

At this point, If I ever do an engine swap for a 340, I'm turning my old /6 into a coffee table. :) (Or keeping it lying about for a spare. Never know when you'll find another prefectly good a body needing an engine.)

After all these gorgeous posts, mine feels a bit.. unclean. Like a leper at a fashion show. However, I did just pull it out of a field and got it running after 9 years or so of neglect. Vitals: 74 Duster, 225 /6, all original.
