    Anti-Lock Brakes

There used to be a system available as an add-on for older vehicles. I haven't seen them listed for sale anywhere for a few years. They were advertised as being based on systems developed for WWII bombers or something like that. As I recall, they were supposed to somehow take advantage of...

    1965 Valiant low brake pressure

I don't know if this will help since it's a bit of a different system. When I worked on air cooled VW's they didn't have self adjusting brakes (there was actually a good reason for this, but I won't get into that now), so you had to adjust them on a regular basis. If you just adjusted them...

    8 3/4 wheel cylinders

I bought new ones because my car hadn't been driven since around 1980. I was afraid of what I might find inside them. Might be more than my poor little ol' hone could handle!

    8 3/4 wheel cylinders

I seem to remember that part of the cylinder where the hose fastens on sticks out & fits into a hole in the backing plate to kind of "lock" it into place, to keep it from moving?

    Foot operated Emerg. brake?

I'm thinking that my 1962 Fury (Yeah I know, it's not an A body) had a foot operated E brake. Any old folks here that remember?

what rotors are these need this part number PICS

I went through the Kelsey-Hayes Brakes section of the 1972 FSM 3 times a couple of days ago & couldn't find much of anything on how to replace the rotor itself. About all it mentioned was how to remove it & replace it along with the hub.

    Parking Brake Cables (8.75 swap)

I did a 7 1/4 with 9" brakes swap to an 8 3/4 with 10" brakes & the cables switched right over. I think you should be good. I read a trick for getting old cables out of the backing plates was to put a hose clamp around them. Never tried it though.

Power Booster...not sure what I need...

Back around 1974 I pulled the power booster & vacuum reservoir off of a 1965 273 Commando Barracuda. Swapped them straight over onto my 1964 Barracuda. Both cars were stock V8 cars. Mine had 9" drums all around & I'm not sure but I imagine the 65 had 10" drums. I just bolted the booster with...

what rotors are these need this part number PICS

I don't know whether you're correct or not but what you say is contrary to what's been said many times here lately. I hope you are right because it would make things a lot easier. My factory manual is for a '64 so it doesn't cover the disc brakes. Anybody here got a FSM for a later model so...

    drum brakes and moser axles

I agree about the cluster.......... As far as what axles he got...It would be nice if Moser would post the specs on their site. If they said what the register size is it would (maybe) help clear things up. Probably best to call them on Monday & find out for sure what's going on.

    drum brakes and moser axles

But the OP says the register on the axles is larger than the register on the drums. From the description on the Moser site it sounds like the axles are for stock A body drums that have been drilled for the LBP. So it looks like he has to not only drill for the LBP but he also has to machine...

    drum brakes and moser axles

I just looked at their web site & they don't mention anything about the diameter of the center register of the axles. The SBP drums have a 2.25" (IIRC) register. They should mention it if you need to machine the drum register to a larger size, but what they REALLY should do is supply the...

    drum brakes and moser axles

They probably just figure people know the ins & outs of what they are doing when they walk into a project like this. Just get the ones you have drilled for the new pattern. You might have 1/2" bolts on the new axles, so take that into account. New drums are still available. Somebody posted a...

    brake issues, out of ideas...

Do they even put the rpv's in the new master cylinders? Supposedly all of the currently available new wheel cylinders on the market don't require them because of better seal/cup designs or something. Are you still running the original wheel cylinders? New (not rebuilt) ones would probably...

New Brake Lines (1966 Barr) Drums

Looks like maybe Inline Tube got smart & fixed the problem with the junction block. I just found one of their vendors selling this item on eBay. Does this look like it would fix the problem? First pic is the new style, second pic is the old style.

SSBC A153 front disc brake conversion Kit

This is what I bought. Haven't installed it yet. Don't know if you'd want to go this way or not since it includes the adapter. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/MOPAR-Aluminum-Master-Cylinder-Swap-Kit-Cuda-Charger-/320657216719?pt=Vintage_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item4aa8a8d4cf

    Drum size

Are you talking about the front or rear? There were some wider sbp 10" drums used on front. I think they were 2". I know because I have a set from a 69 (I believe) Formula S sitting in my shop. They're 10" diameter & definitely don't look like the 1 3/4" wide rear stuff.

    SBP disc brake conversion

Thanks! That's the info I needed. One site just listed them as Set 6 & Set 2. Well, crap! I thought that was all for the info I needed. I figured the bearings out. Now I look at wheel seals & they list 3 different ones. 9", 10", & 11" brakes. I know they never used 11" drums on these...

I'm trying to order up some parts ahead of time & can't seem to find the info I need. I've searched on Moparts & here & also looked at some of the auto parts sites & don't know for sure what I need to get. I want to swap on my SBP brakes & I'd like to buy new wheel bearings & seals for...

    Rear Drum replacement(not conversion)

If you really want to do EVERYTHING, you need 2 brake drums, 2 wheel cylinders, a set of brake shoes and a hardware kit. You'll also need some brake fluid & it would help to have a set of brake spring pliers but they're not absolutely necessary. If your buddy has done it before maybe he has...
