    Mean 318...or stroker....hmmm

Talk to some slant six guys. We would kill to have the bore of a 318.

    Mean 318...or stroker....hmmm

325-350 hp is arguably all you need on the street anyhow. Thats a low 14 second car if it is geared right and not too heavy.

    Mean 318...or stroker....hmmm

Do the 318! Id go down that road myself but im too busy playing with 6's. Do it so I can live vicariously through your build lol.

One thing leads to another... mean 318?

Make another thread or don't, just keep us updated. I've been watching this one to see a 318 build not a shitshow. FWIW I vote that you build the piss out of a 318. I desperately want to but im busy playing with 6's

    Which Intake valve?

Bingo. If you're gonna go through the trouble to build a truck engine to do actual truck stuff, build a diesel. My powerstroke has spoiled me to the point that I have no desire to tow or haul with a gas engine ever again. That said this engine is already built by the sounds of it and you...

Oil filter 90 degree adapter Vs stock oil filter plate

Food for thought, headers are like batteries, the more you drive it the longer they last. What kills headers is condensation while the car is parked. Drive it frequently and the condensation burns out. The same principal applies to the rest of the exhaust.

    3.8 Mommyvan off idle knocking...

    3.8 Mommyvan off idle knocking...

Dont remove spark plug wires!!! Youll be dumping raw unburned fuel into the exhaust and the catyletic converter will clog/meltdown/catchfire. Not to mention you could ruin your 02 sensors Get an OBDII diagnostic tool and one by one deactivate each fuel injector.

    3.8 Mommyvan off idle knocking...

Somehow I missed the '06 part. Well I'm out as far as how much you can do in the van. My sisters 93 we pulled the engine through the top, don't know about an '06.

    3.8 Mommyvan off idle knocking...

Well pishta, I have to say since you didnt tell us what van this is, I dont know if you can get it that far in the van. My sisters 93 Voyager with the 3.3, no way! Beware, her van had the same thing happening at 182,000 miles. Before we could investigate a rod got pulled out the bottom of...

Cylinder has spark but not firing..

Also a possibility. As long as proper torquing sequence is followed and the engine never reaches critical temperatures, the new manifold should be just fine.

Cylinder has spark but not firing..

Well I'll be damned.... Take the intake to a machinist and have them mill it true and it will be ready to go again. Wonder if the welding caused the warpage?

Cylinder has spark but not firing..

Could it possibly have to do with him running hydraulic lifters on a mechanical cam and the ramp speed not pumping the lifters up? Duey_roc, don't use the above question a reason to swap cams or lifters! Unless somne comfirms its a possibility anyways.

I'll try again NGK ZFR5N (3459) anybody using these plugs ?

The reason us slant guys love them is cause the stock plug tip location is next door neighbors to a dead spot in the combustion chamber.

    6 pack, or 4bbl?

Use the 4bbl so you can have a running driving car. Get the six-pack later when you have the money, sell the 4bbl and manifold to recoup cost. Problem solved.

    What is this?? 318 stroker??

    Sure the block wasn't miss-stamped? I have a hard time finding a 318 block fitting a 360 rotating assembly.

Those bastids at ferd are at it again

True, I just always wondered why Ford always had the lowest advertised horsepower of the big three. Always seemed odd.

Those bastids at ferd are at it again

Ok sorry, older Fords. For instance, check the hp for a '69 Boss 302. They dont come close to a hemi or even a 350.

Those bastids at ferd are at it again

I ain't bashing it cause its not mopar. Just pointing out Ford's notoriously low h.p. numbers.
