Hey Guys well my cuda's factory gauges don't work and probably wouldn't be reliable anyways, i was going to put the typical 3 gauges under the dash or perhaps where the radio once was. I was just looking for some input on what you guys are using, i have some Equatis or how ever its spelled...

good topic, i had this problem when i got my cuda, it had electronic ign on it, but the orginal volts(for points) regulator, well it took me about 2+ weeks to find out i needed a new volts reg, now it works great :toothy7:

any one have some guides on how to check these components on my car, its got a somewhat weak spark, gots fuel and compression. new coil (found how to test it now), got a old volts reg on her now, hwo can i check to see what the problem is the ecu box is new, can i check that? :-|

just a sugestion dont over look the voltage regulator. Thats what my main electrical problem was. My car ran then died when i got it. i had to swap the ecu it was melted when i got it anyways, then i bought a coil, still nothing. then i did more research and found out...you must have a...

its a 69 cuda...i though they were built into the gas guage, or did i hear/read wrong

I would like to install some new guages in my cuda, that are under the dash, a electrical(not mechanical) oil, temp, and amp i already know how to hook up the am guage so no problem there, but how do i hook up the other 2. As of now my stock oil pressure guage doesnt work, i tried grounding it...

alright i found a diagram and got my car running with the 2 wire alt. works good :thumblef: now its on to brakes :cwm10:

ok i hooked up my volts reg, striped wires and connected them, it had spark its a mircle but then i would get no gas to carb, ran to gas station picked up $5 in gas 1.7 gal sad, poured some gas down the carb and she fired woooohooo :notworth: , then i checked to see if the line was pumping gas...

wow why didnt i think of it, i have one of those that came with the car, it has the connecter and everything, does anyone know what the wiring should lead to for the plug?

i was reading this thread http://www.4secondsflat.com/regulator_tech.html and it said when switching to electronic ign you sould swap the volt reg. or else u will ruin your ecu box. When i got my cuda the ecu box had melted and was swaped to electronic(obviously). Well i have the wrong belt...

ok today i went and got a new coil and my car still didnt start, there is hardly any spark from the coil-dis, and no spark at plugs. I looked at my diagram again and figured out the guy before me had the wires on backwards :silent: i did it the right way...still no/hardly any spark. can...
