    Mopar 318 5.2l rebuild/upgrade

You say you have a 5.2L and "I want a torque monster what will last, not a screaming high rpm racer." Well, your best (only?) option then is installing a Scat 4.00" cast crank in it (~$370-400). I'd avoid the Eagle cast crank due to reported breakage issues. The 4" crank and boring it +0.030"...

?'s about Sig Erson spring specs

Does anyone have an old Sig Erson catalog that could look up some spring for me? I'm looking for specs on TYPE 542, PART 915921 (could be 915421) springs. Thank in advance!

    engine shipping

12many is right has some great recommendations. I've used ABF, Yellow, and another one called Forward Air in the past. Mainly depends on who has a nearby terminal (for both the shipper and receiver) since "terminal to terminal" is ALWAYS the cheapest! I've shipped and received engines...

Could someone measure an unsilenced air cleaner for me?

Thanks but, the 273 one is too small. As for the other one...I might as well buy a a new reproduction one without the air tube... Mancini Racing Black Wrinkle Air Cleaner ...that I don't have to remove the air tube and patch that hole. I just WISH I could find out the name of the company in...

Could someone measure an unsilenced air cleaner for me?

The max wedge air cleaners are out because they have a small flat area down in the center ring...where the wing nut goes. Also, the center ring on those are more "flush" with the top surface. Unlike the D/Dart and the 68 snorkel air cleaners which has the center ring slightly raised.

Could someone measure an unsilenced air cleaner for me?

Mike, You are correct, they were a special part on the D/Dart...and harder than hen's teeth to find. I was considering getting one of the reproduction 340 unsilenced air cleaners without the air tube and machine out the center. The 68 (single and dual) snorkel air cleaners appear to have the...

Could someone measure an unsilenced air cleaner for me?

Just trying to figure out how I might go about making a replica/replacement air cleaner for my D/Dart. For some odd reason, I can't seem to find one for sale. LOL!!! I'm slowly getting closer to figuring out what all will be needed to make one. Never said it will be easy, or cheap, but...

Could someone measure an unsilenced air cleaner for me?

Anyone have dimensions for the 1968-69 340, 383 and 440 unsilenced air cleaner? Mainly just looking for the overall diameter of the top cover (including the curled lower lip) and how tall the sides are (bottom of curled lower lip to top part that holds/pushes on the filter). I realize the center...

Raw parts deal on For A-Bodies Only

Yeah, it would have been a good deal for me. Would I have paid more if the price was set higher to begin with, yeah. Would I ever pay over $120 for a shroud...probably not. I'm not in dire need of one and as such, I'll continue to keep looking for a good deal...if that take years, so be it...

Raw parts deal on For A-Bodies Only

Personally, I won't price something without researching it first and if I DO screw up, I still let it go at the price I quoted. At the price he's now asking, I don't think it's a fair deal. If I'm going to pay that price, I'll go to E-bay, Carlisle, Mopar Nationals, etc.. That way I can at...

Raw parts deal on For A-Bodies Only

I'm just curious what others would do when a parts deal falls through. Short story, I recently messaged someone parting out a car and inquired about a couple of parts. They had said parts (fan and shroud), stated a price ($60), I said "I'll take it, just let me know how much shipping is, and...

1966 Dodge D/Dart ~ 'Mystery, Myth and Misconception'

But mine is now located in EL OH! ;-) LOL! Interesting to hear about the O vs 0. I wonder why they went with a zero instead of a letter...especially since on normal production cars they used 2 letters to start the VIN.

1966 Dodge D/Dart ~ 'Mystery, Myth and Misconception'

Yes, my D/Dart was the one found in Greeley, CO. Here's a partial shot of it's VIN plate confirming that they are in fact, LO23 cars. A regular Dart GT would have had LP23 starting the VIN.

1966 Dodge D/Dart ~ 'Mystery, Myth and Misconception'

This is the day arrived to pick it up out in Colorado. I took an 8 3/4 rear end with me, installed it, found 4 wheels/tires in the junkyard, and loaded it onto the trailer for the drive back. Two days later, after arriving in Kentucky with the car. Quick wash down with the hose and it...

1966 Dodge D/Dart ~ 'Mystery, Myth and Misconception'

Just an FYI, this is the D/Dart that I currently have... * Ed Eisenhauer Dodge ~ Gran Junction, Colorado It's still got the dealership badge on the trunk. I've tried to ID/locate the previous owner(s) but, so far haven't come up with anything. It was last tagged in 1974...and still has...
