Pull the distributor, check the numbers and replace the distributor drive gear. That would suck to be stranded due to such a cheap part!

Do the remflex gasket! I fought leaks for awhile on my slant. My manifolds didn't appear to be warped but new gaskets always failed quickly. Even doubled up gaskets failed. I had one on my 70 slant dart. It's a factory A/C car with a 22 inch radiator. It wouldn't fit on my new radiator so I didn't use it. It hasn't even thought about running hot yet.

I just decided to leave mine alone. It runs well and that's fine with me. It wasn't worth the hassle for a few ponies. I'll worry about fine tuning the engine when it's a V8.

The factory sticker says 0° of timing at idle on my 70 225 automatic dart. I've got it advanced to 7-8° right now, the factory distributor clamp won't allow any more. I didn't notice much improvement if any.
