I am excited too lol. Let me know when ya have it out this year I'll come watch ya run. Heck I may even be there with mine.

    TF & Speedmaster Flow Tests

All of you guys digging deep into the TrickFlow heads are awesome and much appreciated! These threads really get a guy thinking and learning. With that said I'm curious what the actual expectation is for the TF heads? We are finding theres definitely room for improvement or places they are...

Generic braided fuel line and regulator, worthwhile buy ?

I went Aeromotive for my regulator but used an Evil Energy PTFE kit from Amazon for lines up to the regulator and Evil Energy rubber braided line from regulator to carb. It's only been in a year but so far so good.

Head flow and power differences question / discussion

We made a touch more than that with ootb ports but the heads themselves were not ootb. I had them disassembled and gone through. A few guides were a little tight.

    Trick Flow heads

You can't go wrong with the Harland sharp/Mancini rocker but they aren't required. Recommended but not required. I run comp pro magnums with a B3 kit. I'm not trying to sway anyone or argue or anything like that. Just trying to make it known for guys that may already have rockers and not heads...

Run whatever rocker you want. All ya need are the right head bolts or studs.

    TrickFlow Heads?

We made 585/496 on E85 and 592/484ish on 116 with them in a stock stroke deal. I think with a little more time we could have broke the 600 mark. Can't wait to drive the car. Almost had the chance this summer but had to switch gears and work on this old house before the rains came.

I'm running comps magnums. I thought I had read .060 somewhere but couldn't remember where. Thanks

    Trick flow noob ?s

How much do you restrict flow? I have a set of TrickFlows and they seem to have a much smaller feed than factory or other aluminum heads. I think it's around 1/8" maybe a little smaller. Is that small enough or would one need to be around .060"-.080"?

    500hp & 600hp Bench Racing thread

Idk man. My gut tells me it will make a little more over all but less per cube. The heads are small.

    500hp & 600hp Bench Racing thread

What I was getting at is the fact that this guy wants to basically say let's use the same top end to make the same power with both engines. When someone gives an explanation as to why it won't pan out he says yeah but if we change this this and that it should work. Which is fine and it makes...

    500hp & 600hp Bench Racing thread

I get it. I'm always hesitant to answer some of these due to my limited experience but I still like to engage in the conversation. I was loosely basing that guess off of my build. We made 592hp on gas with the TrickFlows at 367". Ran out of time to get really serious with tuning. The morning was...

    500hp & 600hp Bench Racing thread

Doesn't that go without being said? I'm starting to feel like you are trying to expose what you believe to be a flaw in the forum here. Explain to us why there is a difference in rpm.

    500hp & 600hp Bench Racing thread

So you understand why there's difference in power output between a 365 and a 408?
  20. 19DUSTER73

    500hp & 600hp Bench Racing thread

You are talking about 43 less cubes. Your problem is your thought seems to be that similar top ends should make similar power on a 408 or 365. When someone starts to explain why they don't you ramble on about how the smaller motor shoulda coulda woulda if the ports were different and the cam...

    500hp & 600hp Bench Racing thread

And an attempt to actually contribute here...I bet a TrickFlow topped 360 at 11-1 would be pretty close to 500 without getting too wild with the camshaft.

    500hp & 600hp Bench Racing thread

There it is again....I played along in the other thread because I was sure I'd learn something after a comment or two made by others. That wasn't really the case. Everytime we actually get down to it you say something like above. Something about changing timing events and port shape to make the...

The answers to these questions are infinitely variable depending on the end usage of the engine. That's the best I can do.

Static and Dynamic Displacement and HP

Goes back to money and know how. It's all relative though. What does one consider high rpm? What's the purpose? I told the boys at work that we turned my 360 to 7200 on the dyno and the jaws hit the floor. I wasn't sure what was happening at first then realized I was talking to a bunch of RV...

    How does cid make power?

Build the 400. I have a thing for big bore short stroke engines.
  29. 19DUSTER73

Static and Dynamic Displacement and HP

Both engines are limited in cross section. At what point do we stop adding port volume and rpm to achieve the same power? We know the added port volume and camshaft changes will almost always result in moving the power up in the rpm range correct?

Static and Dynamic Displacement and HP

Aren't we facing a CSA issue? And maybe what we are seeing when keeping the top ends the same is how hard the bigger cubes are working the induction system? Kinda why I asked what the heads were for. Put a max effort 408 top end on a max effort 360 and watch the power numbers come much closer or...
