Good question. My 68, I'm not sure yet. Both my boys have classics that they've had to put aside right now while they get settled in life. I'm there caretaker right now, keeping the batteries charged with a short ride now and then. I probably should get something figured out soon just in case.

For what its worth a buddy has a stock 392 Challenger and its been to the track a few times. The car was slower at first until he got the launch down, its real easy to blow the tires off, even on a sticky pad. He"s been 12.70s and that's probably all its gonna do with stock tires.

Just picked up a 340 air cleaner that needs a repaint. I was going to use black wrinkle paint from the auto parts store. Is this the way to go? If so any tips for a good finish? Thanks.

This seems correct to me also. I've had two 71's without tail panel stripe. One was on the decklid. The other was an original paint car and had no emblem. I guess it could have been carefully removed.

If you don't mind me asking what was the main issues with getting the mechanical carbs dialed in? I have a setup with fresh mechanicals waiting for me to finish the motor.

I see BB intakes all the time new for 3-400 dollars on E-bay. Dang small block ones typically bring $700 and up for a used one.

I got a old Direct Connection bible I bought new in the early 80's. It fell out of the binding years ago and the wife punched the holes and put it in a binder. To this day I still like looking through the greasy, scribbled on pages, brings back many memories of a simpler time.
