Windshield molding clips - 2 styles

I suggest you contact "Mr.G's fasterers" as well . His online catalog should answer your questions . some front and rear clips look the same but upon close inspection are different , so be careful here . An existing clip from your car (or a parts car) would be helpful if your window is still...

Windshield molding clips - 2 styles

The clips on the left picture appear to be the ones for the windshield but I'm not sure . stainless screws appear to be correct . If you install them backwards the stainless trim will never go on . so be careful there . I believe you can't install them backwards anyway because the screw...

    stripper?

Aircraft stripper is crap . I think you're money and time ahead by having it blasted . You don't have to use black beauty , per say . there's walnut shells, rice hulls , plastic pellets and other media that won't warp the metal . A real pro will know whichto use .

    1972 Plymouth Scamp

Correct , the new glass is not as thick . however, "3M" automotive glass sealer will do the same thing . I know it's expensive ($25.00 tube) but why cheap out and have a leaking windshield ?

How do you protect new paint during restoration?

Agree with all so far . tape (remove right away), blankets , moving blankets and cotton car covers . If you have pro s work on your car tell them flat out that your car is finished and you won't pay them if they damage it in ANY way . Don't be afraid to tell people to keep their hands OFF ...

    Paint stripping without a D/A

    Rust prevention

I used "Lizard Skin" inside the car and DUI overhead and on the firewall . the underside is painted and clear coated because it's easier to keep clean . they are both GREAT products . Do NOT use the products from the home center ! Most are asphalt based and you can't get the smell out . You...
