It definitely looks like that bell broke and threw the input shaft out of alignment and then it broke. Not the trans fault. These transmissions can take a ton of abuse! I haven't broke one yet and I'm not easy on my stuff. 760Hp running in the 10's with a full weight car using a 18 spline.

I use Royal Purple 75/140 in mine. I like the thicker oil with higher hp cars so it cushions the gears more.

Is anyone running the McLeod RXT clutch in there car? I have the RST in my car now but it didn't like slicks at the track too much and I have to replace it. I was wondering how the RXT is on the street and at the track. Experience any chatter problems?

The 23 spline will take that all day with out any worries. I was running a 23 spline with 620hp for a few years with no issues. Now im running a 18 spline with 750hp with no issues so far.. Don't waste the money on building an 18 spline for only 450hp.

That's all brewers needs. Just give them a call. It will help if you can get the last three numbers of the Bellhousing casting to them. I know the 372 casting works very good.

Brewers has a complete kit to work with the big block a body. It includes all the rods, clips, z bar and springs. What bellhousing are you using?

I always install the Centerforce Dual Friction clutch in regular street driven cars up to 550hp. They have a soft pedal feel and hold up very well. A clutch is the last thing that you want coming apart when you want to play rough.

Ok. Well, I may just build a strong 727 for it then. I just had the trans freshened up this spring and it has worked flawlessly for 2 years with 510hp to the wheels. I know that is a ways away from 700 but I was hoping to keep the 4 speed.

I think the the centerforce dual friction is a nice street clutch. You need to take the over under spring off though.
