That's probably the foam gasket that's hardened up over the years.

I wish the p/o of my car had taken the time to do this...he used green tape and bondo....:( It's all coming out now...couldn't see it when I bought the car but he did the whole car this way...including emblem holes.

Hey, anyone know what the best care is to keep a vinyl top looking great and to keep from cracking/ripping/fading?? What about armor all?? Mink oil?? The 66 Valiant has a fairly new top and I want to keep it looking good! Thanks!
