    Tailpipe opinion

I like a little drone to cover up gear whine or a girl whining "it smells like exhaust" At the bumpers pointing backwards gets my vote

Real talk: exhaust manifolds on 360 Dart

Wish they'd done the 64-66 273 manifolds too. Just to see if they're really that bad

    Early A-body exhaust

Just saw those for the first time yesterday. They look nice and you don't have to weld the connections on like the spitfires do. The spitfires are aimed straight at the driver's torsion bar as if they were designed for a coil over conversion.

    Early A-body exhaust

My buddy had a 66 barracuda with a 360 and fabbed exhaust exactly as you describe. I think you'd have to make it yourself or convince someone else to

    MUFFLER OPINIONS

The shop that did mine fully welded everything. No slip fits anywhere! H pipe meant couldn't pull trans either. Lesson learned

    spitfire header gasket question

Yeah I've made my own head gaskets before and yowza that took some time. Much appreciated idea! Currently what I've done is flattened the copper gaskets in a press and copper kote'd them. They nearly perfectly match the heads and exhaust now but of course I won't know if they seal until I fire...

Good call, much appreciated! Will also be a good time to clean up those ports

    spitfire header gasket question

^^ excellent info, thank you!! I'm considering clamping the header flange to my drill press and end milling the bolt holes to elongate them. Rat tail filing would take forever

    spitfire header gasket question

And I see autozone has the 1413's in stock I just have to brave the international district of town. Yikes

    spitfire header gasket question

All the bolt holes were drilled about 1/4" too low and cause a decent port misalignment. And you're right, looks like these headers were designed with 273/318 manifold ports or thereabouts. It all works okay but who wants to settle for that. Love the stories and input, hoping to intercept...

    spitfire header gasket question

Look what happens if I line up the ports on these Sunday night rebuild gaskets. Fixable but annoying.

    spitfire header gasket question

Tried some old copper gaskets, they don't fit anything I own. Not sure what they fit. These guys: Mr. Gasket 7166MRG Mr. Gasket Copper Seal Header Gaskets Not looking to tig up n grind the header flange to make stuff work unless it comes to that Those mr gasket 358's are acrylic fiber. That...

Muffler recommendations 1965 barracuda 273 original exhaust manifolds.

Thrush turbos here, no complaints. Mild performance sound, quieter than Dynomax probably

    spitfire header gasket question

I've heard nothing but good about remflex. They're certainly in the running. Meantime I've got these ready to be installed: Mr. Gasket 358 Mr. Gasket Performance Header Gaskets They are really old stock but look like they'd work. About 1/2 the thickness of the originals

    spitfire header gasket question

I'm looking to replace the original thick as hell white paper(asbestos? fiberglass?) gaskets that shipped with the old Harold Johnson headers. Anybody know? I wish I'd read the name printed on them before throwing them out. They didn't leak and survived multiple teardowns over the years...

Just orded new headers from Layson

They don't. The driver's side exits pointing directly AT the t-bar. The passenger side is a little better. I used 2.5" pipe from header to muffler, and it's a little tight and I had to dent one pipe(not the header though).

Just orded new headers from Layson

I can personally vouch for these headers being a substantial gain over the early cast 273 manifolds, with no other changes. More torque, top end, everywhere up to 6750 rpm. And you won't burn your knuckles changing plugs either. Great plug access! You will NOT accidentally dent these, the...
