1968 Plymouth Valiant First Gen HEMI

Just my brain. Probably in a Car Craft article from the first year they formed the NHRA GT class. GT Class was originally any body and only cu in was the factor. I am not a drag racer, just took note of the write up. Made me chuckle. Check out trying to run a 1956 Chrysler 354 in Stock or...

1968 Plymouth Valiant First Gen HEMI

Early Hemis were outlawed, since Chevy could not be expected to compete. The funniest was when NHRA made their GT class. They forgot to exclude the early Hemis. A guy put a NA 392 in a Duster and cleaned house and took it all. Guess what new rule was added the next year. Early Hemis were...

1968 Plymouth Valiant First Gen HEMI

That's why NHRA banned them from competition. 1st generation set so many records and easily went so fast. That's why they were used in Funny cars and Rails. Up through the 60's they didn't even run a transmission. Direct drive, floor it through the 1/4. That doesn't sound like a high...

You can hit reply in the lower RH corner above the check mark and red X. That way your replies are a little clearer I had 2 virgin 1956 354 Hemis, always stored inside. I looked into putting one in my brothers 67 Barracuda. Jim from Racer Brown took me to look at two A-Bodies with 354 Hemis...

    69 383 A-body Dyno results

Not sure what you are thinking of. Most original AVS carbs were 625-630 with the small primary blades. They were used on 340's, 383's, and low performance 440's. Max wedge AFB's I believe were about 750 cfm as well as 67 HP 440's using the larger blades as in later Competition Carters rated...

    69 383 A-body Dyno results

I don't think so. Front blades are the same as secondary blades on later HP 440's 68-71? Same on Marine carbs.

    1965 Dodge Dart Charger (?)

I don't think so. With only one gear affected, seems like a worn brass stop ring.

    1965 Dodge Dart Charger (?)

You might want to try GL4 trans fluid. But since it is only 2nd gear logically it might just be the 2nd synchro cone or brass stop ring.

Could this idea work ? Did other guys did this ? 318 infos

If you are really low budget keep the single exhaust and have a custom exhaust come off the Y with 2 1/2 pipe to a straight thru glass pack and out the back with a 2 1/4 tail pipe, like the 273 HiPo. If it is too loud just add a second 2 1/4 glass pack before the end of the tail pipe.

Just clean up the bowls and get a good valve job. run your exhaust manifolds and run dual exhaust. Add a small cam and 340 valve springs. Use a 4 barrel carb with that 340 intake. No need to gasket match the head ports. Street Demon, AVS 2, any Edelbrock, Carter AFB or AVS. They just run...

1964 Dodge Dart Convertible 4 speed

Wow, what a cool car. If it was a Mustang, you'd have to rebuild the trans every year, it would not handle as well, not have as much power, or be as trouble free. My best friend in High School had a Mustang, manual trans and 6 cylinder engine. Those were his experiences with his mid sixties...

    Color thoughts 68 Barracuda

I like the original Turbine Bronze. I just went through the same decision with my 68, except my original color was the tan color. I did not like it, so it came down to the 68 light metallic green or light metallic blue. Luckily my daughter helped out with picking green. I like your color, so...
