Question - about painting the garage exterior

Yeah Joey, paint it now BEFORE it peels, as when it peels you then have a LOT of work, AND clean up to do BEFORE you put one ounce on to cover it.... Catch it, BEFORE the work needed piles up to become, overwhelming.

Too big for my "shop?" LOL

DAMN dats an old one! Be a GREAT addition to any one of our "shops" but it take the space of a whole freakin car "bay" just to set it up for use! Not a bad price either, (They got it listed for that price due to its sheer size!) IF it doesn't work, you might be able to get a good portion of...

A VERY interestin' take on air compressors

I actually have a "Enco Unimat" milling machine/Metal Lathe, factory, NO new parts BUT the drive belts, oiled every other month, I use it all the time, and its manufacture date......1954! its as old as my Dad (if he'd be with us today at 60!) Sure, its a hobby milling center, BUT.........what...

Preval paint sprayer, anybody tried one?

I've used them at a job I used to work at before I got laid off about 5-6 years ago..... We used them for truck loading touch up.... I was the painter for HMC Corp. That made logging equipment and the machines, once loaded onto a flat bed truck AND scratches, nicks, you name it from handling...

MAN!!! I need ta' restock the lathe room, LOL

BBM, As long as you know to keep an eye on the wear that if it gets greater over the time you have it and keep aware of it as I have found in and out of machine shops over the years thats something that really hinders work at times specially with aging machines! But, it is a tedious PITA to do...

    Variable speed pedal control?

Not sure your needing resistance, it sounds as tho your looking for steady use....continuous use, this saying the carbon "loose packed" carbon brushes are the failing reason of the old pedal. The hard pack of the Graphite brush will last a bunch longer, maybe not increase any power rating but...

    Variable speed pedal control?

Then I'd take and clean up the mess with the carbon pills and replace them with graphite ones.....Heres the reason why I say that.... I used to work at a place that made logging equipment, and ALL of their forklifts, were electric and had pretty good size electric motors on them BUT the service...

MAN!!! I need ta' restock the lathe room, LOL

BBM, That restored Lathe looks GREAT! As for the wear in the bed, couldn't you take just the bed to a place to have it all "milled" to be the same level and restore the true-ness to the machine without the use of heavy stock paper? Might be worth it if nothing else, just to re-true the machine!

    Variable speed pedal control?

I got to ask, what are you running with this Rheostat? I am not certain 5 AMPS draw on that is a good thing, and with a ceiling fan it be OK, BUT, these type things normally aren't pulling that sort of amperage, till its running wide open...... Sure, a household wall Rheostat rated at 15 AMPs...

MAN!!! I need ta' restock the lathe room, LOL

Nice work! it has been awhile since I've read something "milled" on a lathe no less for a SB model too! Since the making, hows it work? I myself, need to cough up a chunk of steel to make a "rocking" tool post for my Unimat.....I'd have a mini machine that would machine just about anything...

    Variable speed pedal control?

I myself use an old Singer Sowing machine foot pedal and its been going strong over 10 years (now) and it runs 3 different machines and with my wife, and I in the shop at the same time, it runs one or both at different times, and has yet to give me any back talk...... Sadly, I have NEVER had it...

    Devilbiss paint guns

I had a 'biss for about 3 years almost 10 years ago and once I got the newest Craftmens industrial gun (not sure of its name or any of that now its been to long) I haven't looked back. this gun I know I'll have to replace some day but so far, I get to paint around 3 to 4 cars/trucks a year and...

    Custom mailboxes?

That "engine" mailbox looks to be an expensive lil SOB. the M/T valve covers are hell for buying in price. can't imagine them on a damned mailbox! Although, it be cool to have an old "ruined blown up small 50's Hemi, with whatever parts that would be junk for a mailbox but. that's wishful...
