    Big block/3 on the tree?

Up till 1971 you could get a C-body with a 383-2bbl, 3 on the tree combo. It was the base Newport drivetrain and optional on Fury, Polaras, & Monacos. I have a set of pedals that came out of a '69 383-2bbl 4dr sedan Newport. They even have the pedal dress up trim since that was standard on...

    69 340 dart

'66 & '67 are both small output trans & so happen to be the only years the inland shifter was used. I actually just recently bought a rebuild kit for mine but I was confused as mine had a vin pad case which wouldn't be used till '68. Jamie from Passions said a small output trans is a small...

How To Remove/Install Clutch Pedal Spring With Pictures

Just do the steps in reverse! But I'm not really sure this method is aplicable to the HD clutch pedal setup.

    68 Barracuda original /6 with 4-Speed?

Yea, but thats the over drive 4 speed, not the performance version.

    4-Speed Identification

That line (rib) there was used in the '70 and later 4 speeds when they changed from the ball & dent side cover to the one with the levers. So thats not an overdrive specific part but all original overdrive trans do have it.

    68 Barracuda original /6 with 4-Speed?

In the US after '66 you couldn't order a 4 speed behind a /6. You could however gotten a 3 speed on the column (didn't come out with 3 on the floor till '70) as standard equipment.

pictures of pedal assemblies 340 vs. others

Yep thats factory. All clutch pedals (at least A-bodies) have that. Auto pedals don't.

What are these HD linkage rods from?

They look like B-body (possible A?) what I think are called "RAM RODS" that is used with the heavy duty Hurst shifter that has a built in spring to help the shifting action. I'm just guessing here so someone correct me if I'm wrong.

    3sp???

You could have gotten a 3 speed behind a 383 in '70 in B,E, and C(!!!) bodies. Just an interesting fact.

    Any mopar with a forged crank. '68-71 or '72 318s/340s, and 383s?

What are these indents on the 4spd hump?

The one rectangle dent on the 4 speed hump itself I think was a pad to put the part # on. The screws are not factory and are probably covering some mounting holes for after market gauges placed there is my guess.

Convert my orig. Trans to 3.09 first gear

I don't see why not. The 18 spline & overdrive units can't interchange I think.

I say cut the weld. You can always re-weld it.

pictures of pedal assemblies 340 vs. others

From what I got out of the guy that I purchased the 4 speed conversion parts said it came out of a '72 Duster 3 speed on the floor. The small block biscuit k-frame that I also got from the guy supposedly came out of the same car. It has the washer welded to the front. So my guess (I never...

    Slipping under power

Sounds like the clutch disk is shot. Are Barracudas clutch was shot and when we took it out for a test ride it slip a lot under hard acceleration and also in 4th gear up a hill.

My unmodified clutch pedals has the larger spring factory but does not have the metal shield or pin setup that locks the spring on. Heres a link on how to remove the spring too :) http://www.forabodiesonly.com/mopar/showthread.php?t=115061&page=2 .

    23 spline v 18 spline

Wouldn't a '65 trans have the bolt on driveshaft? I know the 4 speed in our '65 Barracuda is like that and the 727 trans that was attached to my '65 413 engine was also like that.

    How Hard Is It...........

Were good with the mechanical abilities. Just last week I had the car on all 4 jack stands so that's no problem. The original bell housing is cast iron/ steel so I don't think there's that much weight deference. We can get a torque wrench but the thing with the crank alinement has me worried...

    How Hard Is It...........

How hard is it to swap a 10 1/2 inch clutch setup in place of a stock 9 1/2 inch set in a '65 Barracuda? We have a lakewood small block scatter shield that we plan on using. How hard will it be to use that? Also we have the 130 tooth 10 1/2 inch flywheel. Would all that I need is to shorten the...

I'm pretty sure they didn't come with Hurst Comp. Plus shifters from the factory. They did have Hurst shifters tho. In '66-very early '68 they had Inland garbage shifters.
