just a little heads up on clutches....we just ordered a zoom from summit..and sent it back ..it was a made in china knock off.....it wasnt even painted purple like a real zoom clutch....we just trashed a hayes also ..now i wonder if it was a knock off too? i have used hayes for many years...

have you used this set up before? seems to me that I read somewhere that the early side covers dont work on the later trannys,, but i could be mistaken

You didnt mention using an clutch alignment tool , if you didnt use one .you do need to. the align. tool should slip in and out easily, i have found that tightening the pressure plate all at once on each bolt isnt allways the best, i have found that drawing the pressure plate down evenly all...

I have had some luck fixing the problem by slipping the clutch , if the problem is rust it can usually be burned off , besides it is easier and cheaper than just pulling it apart. just dont go nuts and fry the pressure plate, the material is usually stuck to the flywheel and / or the pressure...
