I don't understand what you are asking. Are you trying to get rid of the short stub of a bypass hose or are you trying to get rid of your heater hoses?

A/C Leak Inside on Passenger Floor?

That looks like a dealer installed under-dash AC unit. I'll bet that the nipple that is dripping should be connected to a short rubber hose and through a new drilled hole in the floor. Show us some more photos from a little further away of the unit.

    How close is to close

I don't follow you about the engine moving (forward?) if you hit curb stops. I don't normally "hit" curb stops. One of my cars has the clutch unit so close to the radiator that I can barely slide a belt past it and though I don't have a chain that you are referring to, I've never had the...

    How close is to close

There is little chance of the engine moving forward, but it will rotate on the mounts a bit. If the fan is only 1/4" below the top of the radiator tank and would hit the tank if the fan blades moved up this 1/4", then I would be worried. If it won't hit the tank with a 1/2" move, then that...

Anyone from the New England area know...

Get a propane torch and do it yourself. Melt the solder on just the bottom section to pry it away. Then use an old oil dipstick to rod out each tube, rinse and reinstall the bottom section. Resolder with the torch and plumber's solder and voila! I tried it myself on a Toyota and it was much...

    210° @ Cruise and 180° @ Stop? What's Going On?

A high stall speed torque converter will dump tons of heat into the radiator at cruising speeds. An auxiliary trans cooler can help with this. But my $ is on the lower house collapsing at highway speeds. RRR is right on (as always) for getting more coolant to flow and this can't happen if the...

73 Duster 318 seems to be running pretty hot

Keep in mind that the radiator cap allows pressure to build in your cooling system and per Boyle's Law, PV=nrt all other things remaining the same, a higher pressure will prevent the coolant from boiling at lower temperatures. Said another way, the higher pressure raises the boiling point of...

    67 Cuda Cooling

The water pump impeller could have slipped on the shaft so that it is freewheeling. That means no cooling at low speeds.

    Temps climbing in 318

If you have a high stall speed torque converter and no aux cooler for it, that will dump a ton of extra heat into your radiator at highway speeds.

New guy question - '67 Barracuda fan shroud?

My 1967 Barracuda doesn't have one on its 273 (non-AC). But it could have been removed by a PO. I haven't seen any 67 yet that had one. Before you go down that road, try to reduce the space between the radiator and the front edge of the fan blade down to 1/2". Then if needed, change over to...

    340 temp question

If the cooling system never has any pressure, then there is a problem with it! First replace the radiator cap, assuming you haven't noticed any leaks and no "milk in the oil".

    Sweating hoses

Tire compounds are made with a waxy substance in the mix that comes to the surface as the tire heats up in use. This is intended to prevent UV damage and subsequent deterioration of the rubber material. In RVs and trailers, the tire manufacturers recommend the use of skirts on the tires when...

Will high pressure rad cap make it run hotter??

Does your lower radiator hose have a spring coil inside it? Sometimes they will collapse under higher revs when the water pump tries sucking up the coolant, and thereby starves the pump from coolant.

    help with over heating

So you didn't overheat before you changed the radiator? If so, what else did you change at the same time with the radiator??? High stall speed torque converters dump a ton of extra heat into your cooling system. If the only thing you changed was the radiator, then maybe there is a blockage in...

    Matching belts for fan/AC?

If one belt is loose, in a pair of side-by-side belts, it will squeal under hi revving. You can over tighten the belts so the shorter belt is over-tensioned a little while the longer belt just attains the correct tension. The next best thing if you can't get matched belts is buying two from...

A budget repair to my 67 a/c control switch

How about using metal tubing about the size of a ballpoint pen ink tube (even a metal ink tube) cut down to about 1/8" longer than needed. While holding with needle nose pliers, heat them with a torch and when hot, press them into the fitting requIring repair. The plastic should melt-weld to...

Why is it so hard to find

Take it to a local radiator shop and have it either de-soldered and rodded or have it re-cored. TE first method should cost about $75 or less and the latter about $200 at a decent shop (my experience from 12 years ago). A while ago, I even ripped out my Toyota radiator and since I already...

Have you cleaned out your cowl lately?

I made a vacuum helper for my shop vac with 1" PVC pipe (1 piece about 12" long and 2 pieces about 2 to 4" long) and two 90 degree elbows. Don't glue the pieces together, so you can manually adjust the angles. Attach the PVC to your the shop vac hose with duct tape and then vacuum from the...

    Keeps getting to hot

I would guess that you are running a 727 with a hi stall speed torque converter? Do you have a supplemental trans cooler? The higher the stall speed, the larger trans cooler you need. This is especially true if you are not using a lock up torque converter on a longer trip at highway speeds.
