    1967-1969 Barracuda bumper on a 1965 Barracuda?

@65barracudaLA I just measured the frame rail differences. It looks like the 1967 bumper mounts are about 37.5” O.C. and the 1965 is about 34” O.C. I guess that you can use 1967 bumper mounts and use some spacers.

    1967-1969 Barracuda bumper on a 1965 Barracuda?

Maybe the 1967 brackets would match up to the 1965 frame? I’ll go out this afternoon and measure them for you.

1985 Chrysler Laser Parts - LOCK - 4054962 I just ordered mine and I will be picking it up at a Mopar dealer in PA. The part number is 4054962, but if you search their website for that part, it won’t find it. I Googled the part number with “Chrysler” behind it and a bunch of links came up...

Passenger side mirror location for 67 Barracuda

Yeah, that was me. Here are some photos: The measurement from the front edge of the door is right about 10 inches even. The convex mirror is a big improvement over the flat factory original.

    Clearing Chrome

Yes, there is hope! I used POR15’s Peuclid clear paint on the backsides of my Magnum 500 wheels and my replated bumpers (backsides). That was over 15 years ago and they still look great! This stuff sticks like glue and even looks like it isn’t even there. Applied with a brush and it flowed...

water leaking inside thru cowl grate

I made a "U" piece out of unglued 1" PVC pipe that I duct taped to the end of my shop vac and I reached in thru the two under-dash vents (non-AC car). Then I vacuumed full circle around the cowl opening to get out all of the pine needles that collected there. If you also have rust holes, then...

    Dealership Emblems

The tail panel on my Barracuda had holes drilled into it for a dealer emblem, but it was long gone. A previous owner added the "Marshall" piece and after I owned it for a few months, I discovered that Marshall was a popular music amplifier. I'll keep it to hide the drilled holes. Only one...

How to Properly paint and gunk engine?

After removing the intake, heads, wires, wiper motor, battery and tray, radiator, etc., I panted both the engine compartment (sprayed body color) and the engine (POR15 with a brush) while the engine block was still in there. Then before putting anything back in, it was either powder coated...

    Bubbles in Vinyl Top

As with a self adhesive vinyl graphic, I would first try using a credit card edge to push the bubble to an edge if possible. If this isn't possible (to move the bubble) then I would use a pin to puncture the bubble and push the edges with a credit card toward the pinhole until it disappears...

    Cowl Cleaning

I made a J shaped attachment for my shop vac out of dry fitted 1" PVC and two 90 degree elbows. Taped the long end onto the shop vac hose and inserted from under the dash into the vents. I kept turning and readjusting the PVC pipe until I got as much as I could out. Then after doing both...

    Passenger Side Mirror Recommendation

I couldn't find an exact fit, so I bought an aftermarket convex mirror that was larger than my passenger side mirror and used my Dremel to shave it down to fit. I smoothed the cut edges with my belt sanding bench. Then I attached it over the original mirror face with foam tape. It is more...

Nice and shiny Jim! Isn't it funny how one little job turns into something a whole lot bigger? Thank god it didn't end with you repainting the whole car!

    Wiper motor color

I think it depended on the year (I don't know the cutoff). The 1960s motors were gold in color plated (zinc phosphate?). The later ones in the 1970s I think were painted black.

    Does wax prevent water spots?

Water spots are minerals that were dissolved in the water, but when the water evaporates, the minerals are left behind. Mr. Clean had a car wash wand that had a demineralizer filter on it to prevent this. I would guess that the jet dry product might work well on a car. The best dryer I've...
