    What part is this called?

Condenser to eliminate radio static from the ignition. It's not necessary for it to be connected for the engine to run. I would test the starter solenoid first (if it's old) and if that doesn't do it, then test out the ignition switch itself. Also, are you running the ignition ballast...

What's the correct way to Prep and paint my 69 slanty.

It's been 15 years now, so I'm not so sure what I did anymore. I believe that I bought a quart, but I don't know if I applied one or two coats (probably just one though because it has a lot of solids and it doesn't like to be painted over when it's dry). I also used POR15‘s Marine Clean to...

What's the correct way to Prep and paint my 69 slanty.

Here's my 440 in Chrysler turquoise after 15 years. Applied POR15 turquoise paint with a brush after thoroughly cleaning and degreasing. It flowed out smooth to look like it was sprayed, which allowed me to paint it while still installed and not worry about overspray. The AC compressor is...

A 100 Dodge Van White Smoke

Xs 2 on the leaking head gasket. Get a can of Blue Devil leak sealer (no other off brand name!!!) and follow the directions. It will seal a leaking head gasket for around $39. I've used it three times with full success...

Need help identifying under hood components

#3 and 4 are two halves of one windshield washer pump, broken in half. The item in 4 is the actual pump that used to be mounted onto the base in photo 3. Remove them both until you find a replacement. The clip may be from the torsion bar frame socket, but that is just a guess. The item in...

new member with 74 dodge dart starter problems

To run, an engine needs air, fuel and spark. If you aren't getting any of the three, the engine will not start. You can spray starting fluid down the carb throat to see if the problem is "fuel". If it still doesn't start, then start tracking down electrical problems first by pulling a spark...

    Dampner out of wack

Oval out the mounting holes othe scale and realign it? Just a thought. You could leave it as is if you have a dial back timing light and just note that you need to adjust for this inaccurracy.

    Mysterious coolant

I just wrote a long reply and lost it. Try Blue Devil Head Gasket Sealant Blue Devil Permanent Sealer 16 Oz | eBay. To seal up the leak. It will permanently seal any coolant leak, even head gaskets unless it is pouring out like a garden hose. Good luck!

    At my wit's end

Have you tried adjusting the idle mixture screw(s)? Turn the, all the way in and then back out about one and a half full turns. Then adjus pt from there in or out an 1/8th at a time to suit a smooth idle if possible.

    No Compression

Rings stuck in piston lands. They may not be able to be freed, but try several squirts of Marvel Mystery oil thru each spark plug hole and let them sit for a few days. Then see if it will start. Heat from running them may eventually free them. Good luck!

    1920 not enough fuel

Blow out the fuel line with air from the pump back to the gas pick-up after first removing the lines from those items. Does air flow easily? If yes, then try next step. Does a lot of junk get blown out? If so, then you may need to replace the line. If OK, then try blowing air into the tank...

    The "Indestructible" Slant 6

I concur with rod failure. I put 250k on a slanty in a taxi and it still drove itself to the junk yard (broken frame). I've seen FABO members offer free slantys, so don't give up yet on Mopar. Maybe try a RB or 360?

Valve cover gasket: cork or rubber?

Some say cork with silicone on both sides is better, but I prefer dry rubber.
