    Engine in or out?

Yes, especially for removing torsion bars, idler and pitman arm, and steering box removal if necessary, etc. You just won't be able to set the alignment until the engine is in.

    ball joint tq specs

The oldest I could find was 1972. Chilton book says 100ft/lbs for the castle nut, then tighten if necessary to align the hole for the cotter pin. Make sure the hole in the knuckle and the tapered end of the ball joint stud are clean and free of all dirt. A small piece of sand or dirt will...

    340 K Member ??

Could it be because of the engine colors? Seems like the earlier years there was no washer, and the 318 and 340's were different colors. The later years, 318's and 340's were both blue and thereby possibly confused for one another as they came down the assembly like already mounted the the...

Need Help To Remove Inner Bearing

Never tried this but I heard that if you weld a bead completely around the middle of the tapered surface, turn the hub over and wait about ten minutes, the race will just fall out after the weld cools and contracts the race. Anyone ever try this?

Power steering box input shaft seal

Only 75k. It has been sitting for 23 years though, and the seal must be dried out. NAPA has the seal, it only cost $6. Just wondering if anyone has replaced one. I assume that the box has to be removed from the car, but is the seal installed from the outside, or the inside. I cannot tell...
