Update for everyone: I was out of town for ~10 days on vacation. Just picked up the transmission today from the shop. They said that when they replaced the pump gears that they installed them backwards. Now it is fixed and ready to be installed again. Hoping to get it in by Sunday...

I thought about that. I finally have the engine all connected which is part of the reason I am hesitant in pulling both together. I had the engine and trans pretty much ready to go finally and was getting ready to start priming the engine when I found out it would not turn over anymore...

Interesting thought. I put the flexplate back on the way I took it off. Which doesn't mean it was correct, since transmission work was done by someone else a while back. Which way should it be installed? Is there a diagram for this? I know it is slightly concave towards the middle.

Gotcha. Yes I remember that on the TC. So that might just be 'binding' with the end of the crankshaft right now if it is not center correctly?

So I do not have a lot of knowledge about trannys. But I have a 727 in my car and I was wondering if it is possible to put an overdrive on it? If so, is it tough or expensive? Thanks
