Sweet rodeo, with a semi tired 318 la ,the Flowmasters sounded NICE, whith the old school side exit exhaust . How the new engine sounds ,with the side exit exhaust, intrigues me. My turbo muffler with turd downs shrieks worse ,than any horror movie .. You're thoughts?

I personally like the ..028 Mr.Gasket 1121 head gaskets, Mr Gasket Print -O Seals ,on intake gaskets , Exhaust manifold header gaskets..,depending on exhaust.

They do make good midrange torque.

Agreed.. My Howard's grind ,was 229/233 @ 050' advertised was 282/286 ... Slower ramp cams ,work... it takes experience, to learn the difference(s)... Idles at 11 " of vacuum ,@ 900-950 in gear... If you want more street able, pull the intake duration back , ( torque on the street ) ,or widen...

Robert ,BANK THANK YOU ! Have the " turbo muffins " that came with Summit kit ( LOUD ) was looking at a old school set of CVX for Cherry Bomb's equivalent.

Trailbeast ( aka. the cool guy ) speaks truth. If you go EQ , I would honestly stay 1.92 intake , unless you really ramp up cam timing (235 @ 050 " lift) or add a bunch of gear and compression.

That's a damn good question... I went 1.5 conversion, because I am so used to 1.5 LA ratio (I did a engine cycle 1.6 rockers, with a lifter body stacked solid with washers ..too close for my call..) A clay p to v mockup , would be needed. (As you already know )

Agree with the cam recommend statement , Robert. As for Lunati , who knows anymore? I like Crower , Crane , and Howards.. The retrofit LA cam in my Magnum is loosely based on the MP 380/360 crate cam, yet idles better. ... Howards Cams, Retro-Fit Hydraulic Roller Camshaft Chrysler SB LA...

Call Oregon Cams. They have a consummate list of hydraulic roller profiles. Call for a recommendation, bet they can cam you for 150.00-175.00 on a quality regrind. (A new one is 300-400.00..) Hughes 1110 spring set ,and matching combo will get you there . Keep lift .500-.520" with a 1.6 factory...

I used the standard Chevy roller rockers, with my Crane conversion kit on my 5.9 Magnum. No guided rockers ,were needed. However, I did need a lash cap ,and a custom length pushrod, for proper geometry. The Crane kit ,flat works ,keep the valve spring pressures relatively mild (300 -330 full...
