I am running a 17 x 7.5" on my 65 barracuda with 5" of back space and a 235/45-17 and everything clears, but I did swap in a 73 8.25 rear. I don't know if that matters. I think that I could go to a 245 no problem.

On my 65 a 215 clears the fender and almost the sway bar.

Whatever you do, don't buy BFG drag radials. Bald after 2500 miles of easy street driving. We sometimes not so easy. :D

I could lower it a little more if I want to, but I like the rake. They are mounted on a 12" rim. I actually narrowed the rear around the wheel and tire combo. I like them and no rubbing at all, but very close.

I picked these up from ebag new for cheap because of the shallow offset. Now if I could just find the matching front skinnies. They are 15x12 American Racing Trakstars and they are getting hard to find.

These are just 325/50/15 drag radials and they are very tight with mini-tubs. I wouldn't want to go any bigger.

Rims are 15"x12" and tires are 325/50/15. It's a narrowed 9", custom axles, detroit locker and has disc brakes from an exploder. The rear suspension is a Chris Alston parallel 4-link with CE coilovers. It hooks pretty good. I just need more motor now.

I think that if you go any taller you are going to have issues with the tire hitting the front of the wheel well. With a 28" tall tire and 3.89 gears I am turning about 2,900 at 60 mph.

No problem. I am running a 13" wide tire on my dart and I believe Mad dart is too. Just make sure your back spacing on the wheels is good.

Now you have to do what my kids do when they get a new pair of shoes. They immediatly have to go outside and see if they can run faster.:-D

Dang it! I only have 1,500 miles on these BFGs and they are almost slicks now, other than a couple of rain grooves. I am sure that if I kept my foot out of it they would last longer, but I have only done a few burnouts with them. How many miles are you getting out of your drag radials...

Wow! 44" that is really narrow. There are ways to measure wheel offset and tire size with tools they sell on the internet or you could use the coat hanger method. I built my rear to work with my tires and wheels. I am just finishing up the mini tubs, parallel 4-link, new axles, installing...
