Yes, I have the tool already to pre-lube the engine. Very important, I agree, though I'm not sure about turning it over. Won't that wipe off all the cam lube before it fires up the first time?

Ok thanks cudamark. Not sure why it's so hard to put the gear on, I measured the old camshaft and the new one and both exactly the same. Yet the old gear slides on the old shaft easily but won't slide on the new one.

Hey all, I'm on the way to rebuilding my 360, if you seen my other threads, you'll know why. We pulled it after it dropped #6. It's at the machine shop now and they said the block and crank are in good condition for a rebuild, so off we go. Here's what I ordered from Northern Auto Parts...

Thanks guys, I'm not looking to stay at $300, just starting with the $365 kit plus machining costs (good point about bringing the crank too, rumblefish). I just can't spend thousands, maybe $1500 all in. I dream of new heads, roller lifters, etc...but those I think are a dream for me and my wallet.
