Hi i have a crown gear part # out of a 1972 Charger 9 1/4 rear end. I would like to know what the gear ratio is part # 2852928-271 date coded 2-10-72. Normally in my expeience the ratio is part of the code number. Does anyone have a crown gear casting number decoder? Thanks Blair

Thanks guys my concern was that considering it is not a clutch style unit the additaves mig cause the Auburn set up not to grab as well. So i think i will use it anyway as i think it did come in the stock rear ends.

Hi you should thake the identification number off the side of the transmission just above the pan. Then run it through the decoder to see what it is out of first make sure it was not a big block.My concern would be a lot of 727's out of a truck D100 or D200 most of them have a longet tail...
