Need a measurement (ATI damper --> 440 block)

I need the precise distance between the block (440) and the face of a 3 ring ATI Super Damper. Part numbers will be either 917122E (steel) or 917474E (aluminum). Block reference should be timing cover/water pump housing attachment face. Here is a pic (not mine) - is the forward looking oil pump...

    Angle of intake port surface?

Intake to head angle is 10° (= intake surface on head to deck is 80° and manifold flange to deck is 100°). See here for details: V8 Intake Port Surface Mill

Trick Flow 240 Intake Pushrod Hole Clearance ???

Thanks! How much minimum clearance you need for pushrods? If I were to use 7/16 PRs that would mean only 1/32 on each side (1/16 total)..

    440 dizzy gear and driveshaft.

Got the MP one from Summit for $65. How? Had them price match Monicatti Chrysler (not sure if they are even still in business): Distributor Drive Gear - Flat Tappet Cams - P3571071

    fuel line

Don't use aluminum for fuel lines as it can easily crack! Use Ni-copp instead - easy to bend as well but will last and doesn't crack.

    Isky Red Zone

Have you looked at BAM roller lifters? or Jones lifters (those might be just repackaged BAM lifters though idk).

Cody's 440....RRR is off the hook.

Not to sound dumb but what is the advantage over direct lube lifters? Is that an aluminum pipe? Aren't you afraid that it might break due to vibration?

    Rocker arm recommendations?

My take on this is: Each paid $9 (10 - 1 = 9) --> $27 total. Of the $27 paid, $25 went to the manager and $2 to the employee. You have to subtract the $2 from the $27, not add it.

Which lash settings did you use?

440 Camshaft recommendations for up to 6-6,500 rpm?

What about a Comp Cams XS282S? 244/252 @.050 .520/.540 lift 110 LSA. Lash ramps supposedly allow quite a bit of fine tuning (+/- a few degrees duration so that you could even end up with the same intake/exhaust duration making it a symmetrical cam duration wise).

Best mini starter for RB big block 440 engine with TTI headers.

Thanks Jim but I was referring to the 2005-08 Ram Hemi starter. It is smaller than the regular mini starter and stronger (1.7kw vs 1.4kw) - but I'm not 100% sure if it fits a BB. Rusty said yes and I also found a thread over at cuda-challenger.com where a guy said it fits. Anyways I ordered one...

Best mini starter for RB big block 440 engine with TTI headers.

Do you have a picture of it bolted to a block? I would think that the solenoid would be really close to the block/hit the block..

    Stroker cam suggestion

Thanks for the input so far. Afaik the narrow LSA should increase low/mid rpm torque and not top end at the price of a narrower power band. Other suggestions were (all lift numbers with 1.6 rockers): Hughes 250/254 @.050, 108 LSA, .627/.640 lift Jones Cams 252/255 @.050, 110 LSA .582/.592 lift

    Stroker cam suggestion

Hi, I'm in need of a cam for my 505 stroker (TF 240 heads) and have narrowed it down to a solid flat tappet cam in the 245-250 @ .050 range (street car, 3.33 rear gears, 4-speed). Talked to Dwayne Porter and he suggested a straight pattern Comp Cams XTQ lobe (278 adv., 248 @.050, 160 @.200, .566...

    Grooving lifter bores

Somebody who owns a Ford or Chevy should grab the tool on Amazon. Jegs made a mistake on the pricing: $1.69 instead of $217. Unfortunately it only comes with the Ford and Chevy lifter bore sizes. http://www.amazon.com/dp/B001R9DQN6?tag=viglink22691-20
