    Rear Vinyl Trim Removal

Here's a couple shots of my 72 Scamp at teardown, I had holes for the screw in type clips, the one on the far right (around the corner of the trim) had a small spring type arm that engaged one lip of the trim and the pointy end of the clip body hooked into the other lip. Then I had these...

    Door Stuck On Opening

You've mentioned you can actuate the latch with your finger - I assume that means the latch itself is working reasonable well, which to me would still point to an issue with alignment or binding on the post. Does the door move smoothly as it engages the post/striker? If you close it slowly...

    Door Stuck On Opening

I think some spin, but I'm not %100 on that. Tightening it down shouldn't inhibit that anyway. Do you still have the old strikers? Swap one in and see if there's a difference?

    Door Stuck On Opening

New strikers... old latches? Is there a possibility the striker is too thick/binding in the latch channel?

    Door Stuck On Opening

Can you see exactly where on the striker the latch is contacting - smear it with grease or something that the latch will leave a mark in. If one washer made a difference, and that door is too far forward, then try adding another washer and see if that makes any difference.

    Rocker Panel Cover Help

Do you have a bench grinder? Get a buffing wheel for it. Go at the trim with some fine sandpaper to minimize the big spots, then run them on the buffing wheel with some polishing compound. Takes a bit to get the hang of it and they won't be perfect, but should come out better. Here's a couple...

Hood Scoops on Non Hood Scoop Hood

It's a 1972 Scamp, original /6 car. As I mentioned, I have compared the hood to the online pictures above, there are no holes like this or even the curved cutout area for the larger air holes. So I know this hood is definitely not setup for the twin scoops. But I imagine if I have an accurate...

Hood Scoops on Non Hood Scoop Hood

I've looked through numerous threads on dual scoop mounting, most refer to existing holes/cut-outs in the bracing. My hood doesn't seem to have any of those. But I think I can manage it if I can get some charitable soul here to provide me with the measurements for the 4 factory holes at the very...

FYI, here's what it can look like when it's all stripped down... Mine is a vinyl top car originally. That is plastic filler.

    72 scamp rocker molding question

    Replacement vinyl top - Supplier?

Hi All, Any opinions on where to buy a vinyl top? Legendary and Dante's both offer one for $145, plus shipping to Canada. There is a supplier IN Canada that I can get one from, they offer one at the same price as well as another that is about $100 more - and they say it's `better quality'. I...

    Hood is stuck up

If it's like a 72 valiant, open the door on the side of the stuck hinge, if you can see the hinge spring, get something long enough to push it towards the front of the car as someone GENTLY pulls the hood down. This should at least get it closed. I would definitely lube the snot out of it too.
