My right wiper pivot was completely froze up from corrosion and shot to hell. I located another, cleaned it I added a grease fitting a lubed it up. Now it’s right as rain.
Cleaned off more of the front end. Got in the new cross drilled rotors, new timken bearings and inner seals. Waiting on the new pitman arm and getting the front end assembled maybe over the holidays or right after the New Year.
In the mean time my computer drawing of how she will look is coming...
So while waiting on a few parts to get here I decided to do a digital rendering of Lizzie. That way I can try out different color body and wheels, make a few changes and basically draw her up the way I want her to look. Here's a few screen shots:
Got some parts in ,Not all of them, one still on backorder, but I did get a good start today. Left Side torsion bar, control arm, strut rod, and new steering gear in. Tomorrow I tackle the right side. The new torsion bars are 1.03"
A few shots of the removal. I still have the steering unit to come out but it’s a whole lot easier to get to with everything gone.
The current one sound and feels like tiny rocks grinding when you pivot the pitman arm.
Front suspension is out.

Preview of parts to go on. Upper and lower control arms, idler arm, ball joints, tie rods and adjusters, torsion bars, cam bolt kit, shocks, various bushings and new manual steering gear unit
The original springs were 4-leaf. Over time the rear began to sag, and one day there was a noticeable difference in ride height on the right side, after inspecting I found one of the leaves had broken. There was an 1 1/2" difference in ride heightfrom right to left. I got in new springs (6-leaf)...
Definitely no chopping here. Everything that is being done to it can easily be put back to original. Not that it matters for me considering the history I have with this car, because unless something drastic happens I plan to never sell it. My 19 y/o daughter said to me “when you kick the bucket...
