Ive got 15x6 with 215 tires up front and 15x7 with 255 tires in the rear. Fronts are billet specialties street lites and the back are some old steelies. Those rims were temporary but I kinda like the look!

Like stated the rim width is the limiting factor, Id agree with 225s. But if you got a wider rim you could fit 255s with everything stock. Thats what im running on my 73 dart.

The right side does rub sometimes, but the other side has loads of room, the rear is biased towards the right side so thats why it rubs, otherwise it would fit perfectly. At the very least make sure the alignment is good, if you get new tires while the alignment is off you may wear out the tires pre-maturely

In a 69 the largest tire you will probably be able to fit is a 245/60r15 tire. On my 73 dart I managed to fit in 255/60r15s, but my year has more room.

Some pretty classic and inexpensive tires are some BFG radial TA tires, that's what I have on my dart. As far as size goes you can fit up to 275s in the rear I think. But judging by what your old size was I don't think you want to go that big. 215s should be good all around, give you a bit more...

I definitely have the wrong lug nuts then. Because the hole is flat, so shanked lug nuts it is. I will get some lug nuts with a 3/4 inch shank, so I should be good with that.

Guess you beat me too it, those are exactly what I found. I'm sure they will work. But is the shank length the part that goes into the wheel and engages the threads?

The ones in the picture are my old stockers, so they aren't. I wasn't aware that they would need specific lug nuts. I was looking on the billet specialties website and saw some that would probably work with the stock studs. Think these are what I need...

Here are the wheels, those are with the old studs, I go new ones and I actually have less threads! Either way when the wheel is on there is maybe one thread sticking out.

They are billet specialties street lites, and for whatever reason the holes for the lug nuts are a lot thicker. So I don't think special lug nuts will give me much more thread. And those may actually work.
