My 63 radio diagram shows it is setup for a 4 ohm speaker which is what most new car speakers are rated at. So if you want to go to Autozone and buy one speaker to replace it, you should be okay.

I have a question on this type of swap. If you use an engine that requires pollution controls (cats and air pumps) can you put it an older style car and not worry about the pollution controls? Would the engine run without all the pollution control inputs hooked up? Just a thought.
