What Are You Doing To/With Your Car Today?

Dropped the heater box on the Demon on Sunday, since it was nice out...+15C, to replace the heater core (old one leaked more than went through it...lol).....easy enough to drop the whole box. I ordered the TSM heater core (after seeing from others here that the other brands did not fit...

    A body owners

'72 True H code Demon 340 ('71 340 mill), 4 spd Hurst pistol grip, 8 3/4 Sure Grip, '71 & '72 grill, retro '80's vibe interior  ...just up the road about 45 mins from you.

    My '71 ain't a '71...or is it?

I am more familiar with the duster/demon locations (so package tray VIN may not apply to the scamp), and moparmat2000 is correct about VIN partial being stamped on rear package tray.....it is usually found around the lip of the drivers side speaker hole. To OP: Pic to illustrate where to look...

What's your plans or goals for 2020 with your ride??

indeed.....drive it like you stole it :icon_fU: ...maybe try an aftermarket headlight housing with HID kit in them. I have tried every bulb known to man for headlights in my truck for work and a 5000K or 6000K HID kit is by far the best brightest light.

What's your plans or goals for 2020 with your ride??

-headliner, paint inside of doors (metal portion), custom console, stereo. Maybe redo red crushed velvet parts (keeping the retro 80's interior look) -new heater core...freshen up heater box while it is out -maybe paint. Ice white/Molten Orchid

    getting a car

Nice score on the Demon! Demon's are getting harder and harder to find nowadays, because of their low production numbers. -If that "leaning tower of power" slant 6 is in decent shape, it is a nice little bulletproof engine. -In checking for rust issues underneath....make sure you check over...

    Mini starters

hit the nail on the head............you don't have to buy some aftermarket overpriced mini starter. Just the stock starter from a '95'ish era dakota small block. I like the mini starters, as to having way faster cranking and turn over of the motor. The big old stock starter always makes it sound...

What Are You Doing To/With Your Car Today?

Put the dizzy back in with new pickup (gapped it), cleaned up the rust/oxidization in it...all nice and clean now. Running the no vac billet MSD dizzy with MSD 6 box. -put new Taylor 8 mm plug wires on (cyl 5 & 7 wires cooked a bit and were arcing) -Hedder wrap on tube #3 and plug wire boot...

What Are You Doing To/With Your Car Today?

Have the new pickup in and the dist all cleaned up with a coat of dielectric grease, ready to go back in. Here are pics of the rust/ionization build up, for those interested/following (weights had more rust on top, but I wiped some off upon discovering the issue). Build date stamped on the...

What Are You Doing To/With Your Car Today?

it is pretty much every part that is metal inside distributor, except for the reluctor wheel seems to be clean......the weights, part of pickup that bolts to dist., etc. Apparently this is an issue of certain production years/runs...there was no protective coating/grease applied to metal parts...

What Are You Doing To/With Your Car Today?

Parts are in.....time to pull the MSD distributor, clean up the rust and ionization in it, replace pickup.....put on new plug wires (5 & 7 boots are cooked from hedders), plug wire heat shielding....and hedder wrap.

"You Mopar guys" The Mark Worman effect?

I think it is very valuable to have someone like Mark restoring these old mopars to the way they rolled off the assembly line and back to factory specs. The muscle car era only came around once, and to have them "time capsuled" back to those days is incredible in maintaining that part of car...

What Are You Doing To/With Your Car Today?

You will likely be ok, as all the newer ones apparently have a yellow grease already applied. Their fixes/solutions to issue is: -drill 2-4 small holes about rotor height every 90 degrees in the side of the cap (newer caps have a vent/holes already) -clean it all back up to new and coat metal...

What Are You Doing To/With Your Car Today?

It was in the car when I picked it up last fall....maybe a year old prior to last fall, as the cap/rotor had very little wear to them and old owner installed entire MSD system (6 AL Ignition box, coil, dist, wires).........seems to be a common problem with that distributor (lack of protective...

What Are You Doing To/With Your Car Today?

....waiting for the Summit order to come in to replace the pickup in MSD billet distributor, due to the rusting issue they have...sad that a $300 dizzy has this issue. Hopefully that cures the issue of car running like an old grain truck......lol.....if not, tracking down the issue is in order.

    69 Dart hidden VIN locations

Would there be one stamped on the package tray by the drivers speaker cut out, as on the Duster/Demons? A suggestion and a question, as I am not sure if it applies to a '69 mopar...someone with more knowledge of the year(s) they stamped by speaker hole may prove me wrong :thankyou:

    your tire set up?

295/50/15 on the rear & 185/65/15 front. Also have air shocks in the back, which give it about another 2 " (they are "inflated" in this pic). I find the 185's a little skinny and will prob go with a 225 or so when replacing. Can't beat the old school muscle car look with this setup!
