    Power Nation /6

Any chance it would fit in an A-Body with a stock k-frame? Kind of looks like the turbo is in about the same spot as the steering box. Might need an HDK to make it work? Pretty cool. I love seeing older motors modernized, and this one seemed to be pretty impressive. I've seen some...

    Any value in 198’s?

Thanks for the update! Is 0.060 the max overbore for a 225?

    Any value in 198’s?

Thanks! It's all gone now. Went to someone that (hopefully) can use the parts.

    Any value in 198’s?

Well, I think the mystery of the yellow paint is solved. Wish I had figured it out earlier. After about 3 hours of knocking this thing apart and getting the rods and pistons out of the block, I took another measurement of the connecting rods on the bench and got something less than 7" long...

    Any value in 198’s?

Can't imagine anyone local is going to want the block and doubt there is interest to pay a significant amount to ship a it. I'm not looking for any real money for any of this either, but I doubt that will change anything. The yellow engine with the blue oil pan has me really baffled. I...

    Any value in 198’s?

Got the motor home finally. Drained the oil and got 3 quarts of antifreeze and then something like gear oil. Dropped the pan and looks like there is mud in the pan. And the motor is locked up. The block, head and VC are all yellow. But the pan is blue. Did they paint 198's yellow? Either...

    Any value in 198’s?

I will keep it in mind. Not sure how this whole thing will go yet. I think he is looking at pulling it soon, but not sure when our schedules will align to either help him, or just to pick it up.

    Any value in 198’s?

Funny, I missed he was in my area. Still a several hour drive, but far better than Colorado or something. :D

    Any value in 198’s?

Hope you guys are right, he told me to be ready to pick it up when he pulls it. I will probably grab the k-frame at the same time, he is going aftermarket and everything is going to scrap. I know one guy here converts them to v8 k-frames, and so maybe it is worth saving as well.

    Any value in 198’s?

Brother has a ‘71 Demon he got with a 198 (I think) that he is going to scrap. Used to be the rods were worth something to the right people, but not sure if that is still the case. Worth grabbing the rods or anything else? Or not worth the effort anymore?

    Supercharger Kit

I think it was the motor he used in his road race car. Either way, my only point was that it didn't live at 7500 RPM, but broke the block. Wasn't tossing the number out to say "look what it made", or compare it to anything. Just a label. I'm not in the /6 game anymore, so I really don't have...

    Supercharger Kit

I did find pictures of Cameron Tilley's NA 370 HP slant that (I guess) spun to 7500 RPM and was missing the first and last main caps. Of course, now I can't find the pictures.

    Supercharger Kit

Might be right, been a lot of years and I can't find the reference to the guy in Australia with the turbo slant. Thread had people that had ridden in his car, but I don't remember now if or how the "600 HP" comment came about. Ah, Cameron Tilley, it's referenced in this article -...

    Supercharger Kit

Don't remember the numbers, but I remember they popped the head gasket. Looked for a link, but appears you have to be a member of MTOnDemand. There used to be a turbo /6 Simca that was pushing over 600 hp. And I know there is/was one in Aussie Land that was similar. Here is a supercharged...

Can a 78 Volare cruise control setup work in a 74 duster?

Just working from memory, I think your guesses about the main power wire and the double plug going to the brake light switch are correct. I could see a relay working, just remember that you are in effect setting up a controlled “stuck throttle” condition. If care isn’t taken and power on the...

Can a 78 Volare cruise control setup work in a 74 duster?

No argument that there are a multitude of cars with switches that would work. My only point was that if you need a new one, there doesn’t seem to be a source.

Can a 78 Volare cruise control setup work in a 74 duster?

I think the one I used was from a later Dakota. Got it working and then the switch went bad. Replaced it with a new one and had other issues crop up so haven’t tested it to make sure my setup isn’t the issue and not the switch.

Can a 78 Volare cruise control setup work in a 74 duster?

Pretty sure that is what I have working on my Duster. Even have it working with the 4 speed, but that was a custom mod. Biggest issue I could see is finding the Volare brake switch if you need one. Works with the Duster mount, but has a separate circuit that opens when the brakes are applied...

one ta two on the cheap

Cool! I like it. Looks like there might have been enough room to do a 4 BBL. :D Was your last race car a real 300? I've always wanted to drop a 5.7 (or 6.1/6.2/6.4) G3 Hemi in one of those.

Free header flange slant 6 and T3 flange for dfx file

Here's a link to a page with all the T3 flange dimensions. Wouldn't take anyone with a little experience more than 10 minutes to draw, if you take it slow. Link I have a drawing of the Chrysler T3 flange, too, if anyone wanted that.

Free header flange slant 6 and T3 flange for dfx file

I've got a dwg of the header flange I saved from years ago. Not sure where I got it (slantsix.org?). I was going to square it up some, the lines aren't quite true or parallel, but never got around to it and don't have any plans to. Anyone that wants the dwg file, or a dxf, I can send it...

Ultimate daily-driver Gen II A Body to build

I'm not sure about how an enclosure would affect the tuning, but I do know it removes the need to do things like add channels to the base and drill ports to the throttle shafts to avoid leaking boost. Pretty sure that by putting the carb in an enclosure, it works much more like an NA carb, just...

Ultimate daily-driver Gen II A Body to build

So, it sounds like maybe a 2bbl can be made to work. Perhaps it depends on how much boost someone wants to run, or how much horsepower. Perhaps a combination of the two could be made to work. Increase the PV circuit until it works for 8 psi and get the carb working well in that state, then...

Ultimate daily-driver Gen II A Body to build

I went to Ferris, but my best friend (Pete Mason) graduated the same year as I did from Rogers and lived about 3 houses east of Rogers and across the parking lot from the little place (the Shack?) everyone used to eat lunch at on Wellesley. But I didn't know a Joel Jensen.

Ultimate daily-driver Gen II A Body to build

I don't believe there is enough capacity in the PV circuit to make up for it. Here is a post I made on SS.org back in '06 where I said I was going to run a 2bbl on my project. Maybe the PV is an option, don't know, but I don't think so. I'm not saying I know for certain, I was asking the...
