The car is a 67, but I got a 69 hood and grill assembly. The 67 has an assembly running down through the grill assembly that holds the hood hold down. That gets in the way of the intercoolers. No room for the tranny cooler, so I got a glass bumper and the cooler will fit in the bumper.

I'll make a mold of the hood and do one from glass. It will have the openings. can't afford am AAR piece.

The motor is in and the front end is together. Will be driven while it gets ready for paint.

Here's a vacuum advance piece I have. On most units, when the vacuum is gone, it slides to a dead stop. On this one, when you add pressure to the same side, it pushes forward instead of pulling back, therefore retarding the timing. It has a second hose fitting in the front. Don't know why, but...

The top holes will be plumbed into the cockpit to regulators so I can adjust boost from there. Pressure will first come off the intake manifold to the regulator and then to the wastegates. If I just add a filter to the top of the wastegates, they will always open at the factory rated pressure...

The injector adapters screw into the manifold. It is a pipe thread. The injectors are held into each adapter by 4 set screws.

I was just mocking up the hoses and cutting them to length then. I had to tear down the motor completely to do some machine work in the block. The roller lifters were too short to reach the cam, so I ended up milling down the top of the lifter galleries to clear the lifter crossbars.

They go to the mag which is not installed yet. The advance is welded shut and timing will be controlled by the Megasquirt. The only thing in the mag now is the coil and rotor. The ignition is an MSD setup driving the coil. Here's a little better explanation I think at youtube. Bill's Desoto...

I have a suggestion that perhaps you've already thought of. Since the vacuum advance on a distributor is sitting bolted down and very removeable, remove it and see if you can pull the pushrod out any further than it is while just sitting there. In other words, see if there is something blocking...

I'm helping a buddy with his 64 Valiant wagon with 241 hemi. He grafted on a set of 2-door sides and added a 64 Barracuda grill. Hot Heads provided a lot.

I asked Gene about that moter back in the 80s. He explained that the Hilborns available for the motor just wouldn't move enough air at high RPMs so he took a set of Hilborns for a Chrysler and cut and welded them to fit. That was the trick to get good flow up high.

The motor started out as just an injected unit until I saw the Gene Adams motor. Then I switched. I also have some 3.23 and 3.55 gears to play with. Am working on just getting it running right now. Plan on getting some bigger tires on the back later.

Gene Adams is my engine hero. After seeing a photo of their turboed 392, I just had to try to duplicate as close as possible. It doesn't look much like it, but his wasn't built for the street. Found another shot of the Adams and Enriquez dragster. This shot says it all.
