Looking for opinions on Mopar M1 single plane intake

LOL. I have taken several other vehicles to the track over the past 3 years but not my barracuda. I did run the Modified action plus, a gasket matched performer RPM and a cleaned up LD340 on the street during this time. I was happiest with the LD340 and that is what is staying in place while I...

    Which intake manifold

Is your cam off the shelf or custom? The supplier may be able to help provide guidance on the intake. My cam (275 @ .050 bullet flat tappet) was spec’d for a peak of around 6,000 rpm by a fairly reputable builder (Ray Barton) for my exact application. Ray also spec’d my solid flat tappet in my...

    Which intake manifold

I am currently building a 493 RB with the Indy dual plane now for my 71 demon. Also a street car with trick flow 270’s, 11.5 to 1 compression, and a solid flat tappet cam with 275 @ .050 duration. I’m only looking to run mid 10’s and picked the Indy for improved street manors, to avoid hood...

    New G3 Hemi Block...

Gen III parts are also fairly affordable if you shop around. I picked up a new 6.1 block, forged 6.1 crank and CNC ported heads for $1800 for my 71 demon project. LA vs Gen III is no contest from a power and efficiency standpoint. My cammed 6.1 SRT charger has embarrassed more than a few local...

    New G3 Hemi Block...

Stock Gen III blocks are good for 800-900 horsepower. Not sure about aftermarket.

4.06” bore, 252/257 @.050 .550ish lift solid flat tappet, Edelbrock RPM heads with valve job, TTI headers, full 3” exhaust with H pipe, Holley red fuel pump with 3/8” line, 185 cranking PSI With M1 single plane, Holley 830 with annular boosters, 4.56 gears, Hoosier quick time pro (27x10.50x15)...

    What should my 360 run

I ran a similar combo years ago in my 68 barracuda with a 4 speed and 3.91 gears. Ran 12.0.

    questions about battery disconnect wiring

Lots of good information here and I agree on many of the statements above. All of my additional circuits are fused, have properly sized conductors and have solder connections throughout. I actually manage a facility that designs and manufactures power distribution boxes that are used in the...

    questions about battery disconnect wiring

You could include the voltage regulator/alternator circuit as well. It was easier in my case to just kill power to the ignition box and fuel pump.

    questions about battery disconnect wiring

I wired my kill switch up to kill the power to my digital ignition box and electric fuel pump relay. Works as intended and passes tech at the track.

Whats the advantage of tall front tires on drag car?

A taller front tire should also give you more front suspension travel/lift on the launch. A shorter tire requires increasing/raising the torsion bar adjustment to get the proper ride height reducing suspension travel and limiting weight transfer.

Looking for opinions on Mopar M1 single plane intake

Haven’t made it back to the track yet. My 2 little ones both play multiple sports and consume nearly all of my time. I’ll make sure to post the results when I do get the chance to run it.

Looking for opinions on Mopar M1 single plane intake

I remember reading about the moroso epoxy from an intake falling into a motor and hanging a valve open a while back (think it was your post). On my latest intake I sealed the Moroso epoxy using RC airplane fuel resistant clear epoxy and overlapped it onto the aluminum in an attempt to keep it in...

Looking for opinions on Mopar M1 single plane intake

I always wanted to try a weiand x-celerator intake. There are a bunch of folks running simpler combos that ET the same or better than mine for sure. But I don’t think I’m doing to bad for an all steel, non gutted street car running on California’s pump 91 octane. Just sharing what worked for...

Looking for opinions on Mopar M1 single plane intake

Thanks, I used moroso A/B epoxy and no popsicle sticks in the plenum/runner entrance. Here is what I’m running for an intake now.

Looking for opinions on Mopar M1 single plane intake

I know a lot of guys have had great luck with the victor but my combo liked the M1 (best 11.47 @ 118 mph) over the victor 340 (best 11.68 @ 116 MPH) intake. Combo is 372 CID, 4 speed manual, 4.56 gears, all steel body, full exhaust and interior. The M1 was consistently 2/10 quicker in the 1/4...

POST UR MID 11 TO LOW 11 STREET CAR

Valve job performed on LA edelbrock RPM heads and springs changed to match my cam. 340 block: mains line honed, cylinders bored .020" (using .060" SRP 360 pistons and a mopar performance 3.58" stroke crank), deck heights equalized, rotating assembly balanced. Post 11 second small block combos

Intake swap only. Both intakes gasket matched and are nice castings. I used moroso ab epoxy on the M1 carb flange to convert it from spreadbore to square flange. Hotter temp and poor track prep for the runs with the M1. Launch at 4500 rpm, shifting at 6600 rpm for both intakes. The M1 will...
