    Racing Fun!!!

My duster is 3310 with me and a big block 525Hp and 552 TQ 3500 stall with 3.73 gear and a 275 drag radial. As a reference my engine builder used a Moroso slide rule and came up with an 11.62@116 as a number for me. After looking at your data, i am thinking 11.92 ish?

    Going to open headers question

Have you made passes with the closed exhaust? run it with open headers, compare the MPH, jet up 2 sizes see if the mph goes up if it does you are in the right direction. Some cars make no difference depending on what the exhaust is? I am running a 3" TTI X pipe deal with hooker Aero chamber...

Were to find a 26" extended, double adj shock.

My shocks are the RS999114. 24.313" extended and 15.438 compressed with 8.875 inches of travel total. The tighter the setting on the shock keeps the body from rising to quickly. on the stock eliminator forums guys dial them up to setting 8 on the rear. All i know is i got my **** working pretty...

Were to find a 26" extended, double adj shock.

What is the distance now on your car pin to pin sitting at ride height? Take that number and find a shock that is close to 4 inches of travel either way on compression and extending.

Were to find a 26" extended, double adj shock.

I will get you the specs and part number for what i have on the duster. I bought Afco leaf springs, and mine are the 6-5/8 arch. I didnt see that they had a 4-5/8 arch spring or i would have went with that one.

Were to find a 26" extended, double adj shock.

I am using Rancho RS9000 truck shocks single adjustable, one dial does both compression and rebound. All the stock eliminator guys used them back in the day, 10 positions.

    Which best for street strip

If i build another big block Dodge motor, i am staying away from Eddy heads, i think they are a bottle neck unless reworked. I will go with TF 240 heads.

    Which best for street strip

My duster has 3.73 gears, and a M/T 275/60/15 Drag radial on it. I cruise 60 mph around 2600 rpm by the speedo. 28" tall tire.

    Which best for street strip

Just for reference sake. My 468 BBC with 12.0-1 compression, small AFR 305 rec port heads, with a solid roller .692/.685 with .262/.270 @.050 on a 112 LSA, made 708 HP and 622 tq. Peak hp was at 6400 rpm. The motor needed a larger cam and larger head, but this was supposed to be a street car...

    Which best for street strip

LOL you may as well go with 4.56 gears, i drove a combo like that on the street, and it wasn't very street friendly. I ended up selling the car and building the duster, more street friendly. And even at 525 hp, this car now is still a handful.

    Safety requirements (street vs race)?

In any sport or type of work, SAFETY evolved due to people finding ways to die. At the end of the day it's your *** on the line.

    Safety requirements (street vs race)?

Leaving the battery up front eliminates a lot of pain in the *** work on the car. Plus your not really gaining much anyway by moving it. Don't need a fuel cell in the trunk either unless you have severely back halved the car. As long as you have proper fuel line and fittings, and a driveshaft...

    Safety requirements (street vs race)?

It all depends on the track, and what sanctioning body they follow if any? Either NHRA or IHRA. Both have a rule book for ET & MPH. I had a 9.60 Camaro with a BBC and nitrous. My car had all the safety gear in it, and would certify to 8.50 ET if needed, had a full cage etc on and on. My duster...

Yes the battery box eliminated the need for all the tin work and hole sealant.

    Battery in trunk (again)

You will also have to tin off the entire trunk from the pass compartment. So speaker package tray as well as behind the seat. All holes need to be filled. To me, it's not worth all the grief for the minimal if nothing you will gain by putting the battery in the trunk.
