275/60/15 sidewall clearance to leaf spring clamps- suggestions?

Leave the clamps off of the rear section. You don’t want them there if you’re going to hit the drags anyways.

    Stick car suspension set up

Put another leaf under the main. Clamp the front, no clamps on the rear. That will drive the tire into the track right to china.

    16:1 vs. 24:1 steering

I did my last summer. Definitely harder to turn but runs great down the road. I would say it was worth it. I would do it again.

    Polyurethane or Rubber

I put a set of polys in a BMW I had. Took them right back out. Rubber all the way for me. IMHO.

    Moog offset upper control arms

Running radial tires you should switch to offset. The offset let you put more caster in.

    Leaf springs

What did you do to make a custom set of springs that raise the car 4”? Seems like taking a leaf out might work.

    Strut Rod help / Tips

No need for a torque wrench. Its a big fine thread nut. Just tighten the **** out of it.

    Strut Rod help / Tips

Tighten them until the nut stops. The rubber is supposed to squish out.

Will a 1967 B body floor shift column provide the parts needed to convert a 67 a body column?

Definitely a little cool factor on a hot car with a column shift. IMHO that is.

    New SS spring sagging ?

I guess the point I’m making is that once you break up the pair there is no advantage over a stock or heavy duty spring just because they are called “super stock”. IMHO

    New SS spring sagging ?

Super stock springs are made to work as a pair. Putting in two of the same really defeats the purpose. IMHO.

OEM Upper Control Arm Bushing and Positive Caster

If the total length with bushings installed is incorrect then I would shim in the front and back. Attempting to stop the movement any other way seems wrong. IMHO

OEM Upper Control Arm Bushing and Positive Caster

You can’t just put offset bushing in and get max caster. By the time you dial in the camber with offset bushings you end up at around +3 caster. I still fail to see why you need a homemade retainer. The bushing design keeps them from moving back and forth.

    Advice on suspension.

I just did mine. Replaced everything. Also used offset ica bushings to gain caster. I stayed with rubber because poly while good for road racing will knock your teeth out on bumps. Heres a look at 52yo bushings

OEM Upper Control Arm Bushing and Positive Caster

i don't know why either but I just installed a set in my 67 and they fit perfectly. Only thing is the directions say to point the arrow toward the ball joint. Thats incorrect. One needs to point away to get most caster

OEM Upper Control Arm Bushing and Positive Caster

The bushing don’t need metal rings on them. The collar on the bushings on each end keeps the arm from moving back and forth. You need to set the caster and camber then pinch them in place with the cam bolts and the car at ride height.

OEM Upper Control Arm Bushing and Positive Caster

Something is amiss if your control arm is moving. Whats happening at the rear bushing? Thats the one that keeps the arm from moving backwards not the press fit. As long as you have it apart you should use offset bushing to get more caster.

    Not the steering box

Cost me $1000 to bring this car back to NY. It pales in comparison to the thousands of dollars and countless hours of time spent restoring an east coast rot box.

    Not the steering box

No wonder this car was all over the road. Original bushings are wiped. I guess 52 years would do that to rubber. Upper bushings I changed a few years ago I’m replacing with offsets. California car I had trucked to the rust belt. Everything came right apart which begs the question. What the...
