Tru trac is super smooth. I use it on the road course. Power locks are rebuildable.

Better off with a T5. The TKO series is the worst 5 speed I've ever used. The shifting and the QC is poor for the most part. It was never an original equipment transmission while the T5 was.

Whatever you do don't use silicone! We use a non drying product from perfect seal called #4. Much better suited for problem areas. I like silicone gaskets but sometimes Victor tuff cork gaskets work better with an old style pan.

Probably add a detent in the shifter for drive - (3rd). Sound like the original D is now OD.

I run this gear with a 4 speed and my small block stroker. Great combo for torquey motor. The factory had it right as this was the combo with a 360 in a bodies.

The gears are probably shot too. Even used bearings should have 10-15 in/lbs rotating torque.

Forget about the seal. The drag is minimal. 25-30 lbs with new bearings.

Do you want good or cheap. The board sways toward cheap. Eaton Detroit is an oe manufacturer of very high quality springs. Not the cheapest though.

I like the Passon unit, but I hope he releases it soon. I never liked the Tremec conversions. Between the conversion bell housings that are never straight, no starter support, to the driveline angles and propensity to leak, I'll wait for the Passon unit.

I am using a McCloud dual friction. They are one of the few companies left that aren't owned my a conglomorate. So far clutch is great, slightly heavy on the pressure.

I did not know Quicktime made automatic bells for the GM units? I have used one of their Tremec bells, and if that is any indication of the rest of their stuff - no thanks...Its my understanding that Keisler cast a bolt on bell for the 4L60E which is a neat piece.

I hate to say it, because I am not a fan of Keisler kits, but their automatic (4L60 GM) unit fits nicely due to its slender size. All the other options require surgery, and if you are retaining T bars, often results in a less than professional looking installation.

I disagree. The pattern is clearly better in the first 2 shots. I'd be trying a .035. I do agree with the B/L, shooting for .007.

.003 is enough to make a difference. Looks like you will need to add shim to get the pattern centered within the tooth. Right now you are running off the tooth on the inside of the long side of the tooth. This is called the face. The opposite side is called the flank. If you want more info, go...

Pinion shim is wrong. Pattern needs to be centered on the tooth betweem face and flank (long sides). Your patter is running off the face of the tooth. Pinion shim should be similiar to the orig one, probably 30-35 thou.
