There are 2 length tips. The correct length ends the tip with only the flat area showing outside the valence. I’ve seen many Dart with the wrong tips. Looks weird to me. There is a guy in Tenn I think who makes stainless reprod tips. MOPAR Exhaust Tips

I run 2.5 tails and 3" head pipes and mufflers. The restrictions are in the mufflers.

I disagree. Large tails just create noise as far as im concerned.

How about 3" H or X, 3" mufflers, 2.5" tails. TTI will blow up 2.5 tails to 3".

I'm betting the Schumacher mounts are the issue. When fitting these motors, spend the time to get an original V8 k frame. Its almost impossible to make a conversion mount and have the motor wind up in the exact same spot. I went through this with a customers A body and BB mounts. They were way off.

I like using mufflers with an 18" can length. This was the original length for 340 cars. Only a couple companies make mufflers in that length - Magnaflow and Goerlich. I like the Goerlich Accelerators and an going back to them from Dynomax.

BBK just came out with an adjustable chamber. The sizes they offer very limited for now.

I have 3" dynomax now with TTI Headers and Exhaust - they're terrible. Switching back to Goerlic Accelerators. I had the xcelerators with my 2.5 system and they were much better.

We did TTIs on one we did last year using the Rob Mc starter and manual steering. All worked perfectly.

Goerlich Accelerators are really nice mufflers. I like them much more than Magnaflows. The 2 companies mentioned are the only 2 I know of that have off the shelf 18" cans.

Why don't you call TTI and ask?

I just put these in a 440 E body. Fit is good, but the powermaster or Rob Mc starter is a must. I'm not sure why they couldn't make these fit without buying a 250-300 starter....

Who is the member who makes mufflers?

Definitely more clearance than the long tubes from TTI. However, the big bonus may be the ability to use a long pitman on an A body.

Your're half right. Lots if choices in the GM world but nothing close in quality to tti for mopars.

If anyone is serious about these PM me. I'm trying to put together a group but which can make these a little more affordable. Also note that the use of these shorties should be the first time a long pitman arm would be compatible on a bodies which provides a huge improvement in steering ratio...

I have felt the same thing at times. Frankly, these are something I'd jump on for two reasons, one the ground clearance, and two is the long pitman clearance for even faster steering. My long tubes may be for sale soon! I'm sure 450hp is a very general guestimate. I'd be willing to sacrifice...

I have these and I didn't have to put a mark in them to install. I would have returned them before murdering them though.

You may need their Z bar too. I just did a 4 speed swap on my SB with TTIs, and bought their Z bar - money WELL spent. TTI has it down.

18" can is the magic number. Only 2 straight through mufflers available that I know about - Magnaflow and Goerlich. I used the Goerlich mufflers in 2.5". I have used the Magnaflows, but feel the Goerlichs are nicer and quieter. The Accurate mufflers are stock type and made by Imco I believe.

David Vizard did a good article on this. It came down to 2 things, 500hp and up it was 3", but the deciding factor is also the flow of the muffler. Many mufflers don't flow enough air to support 500hp. It is critical to consider muffler CFM when making this choice. I have an 11:1 410 w/hyd...

I've used Borla several times, but not on these cars. Definetely a good choice, but usually out of the budget of most.
