    727 question

Doing some research on 727 rebuilds, and I'm curious about something...I understand how important it is for the throttle pressure linkage to be adjusted correctly, but I haven't been able to find the results of when it's set wrong. Exactly what happens to destroy the trans so quick when the...

    727 slipping

An update...a check revealed that the trans portion of my radiator is plugged, it allowed very little if any fluid to pass through. New opionions?? Did I just fry the trans due to heat buidup? Or still thinkin internal mechanical flaw??Let me know what you think.

    727 slipping

OK, started up the Demon today, got the engine running great, and the trans too...I thought. My combo is a fairly fresh but stock 440 with a new rebuilt 727 lockup trans. Its the first time the trans has been used since the rebuild, and I had Frank Lupo make me a 11inch 2400 stall converter for...

They both have 3 pins, but the plastic "shroud" that sticks out around the pins is different, so the connector on the car just wont push on because of that.

    Neutral safety question

Took out of my car a 72 smallblock 727 and installed a 78 bigblock lockup style 727...and the neutral safety swiches are different. Can I swap them? Anything different about them except the connector? Any info would be appreciated. Thanks

    Need shifter linkage help!

Here are a couple pics of the shifter that came out of my car (72 Demon 340, 727 console shift). Can anyone tell me, or better yet show me a pic of what is supposed to be where the worm clamps are on mine? Or is the square block supposed to be threaded onto the shaft? Any help would be appreciated.

    Exploding Torqueflites

Maybe I missed something... If you have a stock valve body, when the shifter is in manual low the L/R band is applied. When the shifter is in automatic low the L/R band is not applied. Right? Then why wouldn't you always want to start in manual low regardless of whether it was a burnout or a...

This should be a sticky.(sure grips).

Thanks, yes, that helped. Are there more than one differential bearing size or are they all the same? How about splines on the axle, all the same or were there different spline counts made?

This should be a sticky.(sure grips).

Great article, but can anyone tell me how to identify a suregrip just by looks or casting numbers maybe? Not having much experience with them, I dont know how to id one that has already been removed from the housing.
