I would just call whomever you are getting the brakes from and ask them. My 8 1/4 had the same e cable as an 8 3/4 if that helps. Not so sure bout a 7 1/4?

It may be that the pedal return spring is worn. Mine done this shortly after I got it running but was able to adjust the switch. It like the pedal was not coming up all the way on mine.

Damn, I knew I was looking for an 8 1/4 for a reason. Now if I find one I will know more to do with it.

I am confussed. Are you wanting to put your 7 1/4 axles in your 8 3/4 rear? If so I don't think that can be done. What most are doing is having their 4" rear axles drilled to a 4.5". that way you can use all your rear pieces but have the BBP axle for more wheel choices.

Ok getting ready to put the new M/C in the car. The new mc did not come with the retainer for the push rod. Where can I find one? Or would useing the old one work? Or is there something else that can/will work for the retainer?

I just went and bought one from auto parts store and it was only $35.

The foam would work find IMO. as you tighten up the nuts it will compress and seal great. Its there to keep water and dust out of the passenger compartment. It not under pressure so it would not take much to keep the water out. But just my $.02
