    I was thinking bout the same thing. And my thought is----------I left them off. I wanted people to know what kind of parts or where I got them. Like most sponsors, but stickers is the only thing I got free!!!. Also to ME it does have that "cluttered" look.

    Western KY small town of Providence. Bout an hour south of Evansville IN. Didn't get time to look for splash shields, had to get brakes on my truck. I retired Army after 21 years back in 07. Thank you for your service Dale

    Congrats on getting close to the body shop time. I will look around I MAY have the splash guards if I did not get rid of them already. As far as all the hardware maybe look at year one or classic industry. SO good luck finding everything you need.

    I try to use automotize painters tape, it's green. And does a better job the home painters tape, blue. I learned the hard way as well. Good luck.

    Well my 71 had the trim with holes as well. And I done the same thing you did. I thought the welding, grinding body filler and all the blocking would take care of it and smooth it out. But I noticed after paint you can still see the waves. My fix? Wait till next time I paint it and use a glide...

    Just found your thread. Like the way it is all coming together. Great color. Since you are working on a carb and its a 1 barrel, are you going with the rugged and true slant 6? Would open more eyes at the shows. Just a thought.

    The wires go thru large opening in the core support right behind the lights. they attach to a hole about 7 1/2in below top of support on both sides of radiator (when installed). Bolts thread into the support. I will try to find the pic i used when putting mine back together. Hope this helps.
