Best performing non offset Small block Mopar heads

Whatever happened with the Edelbrock Victor heads? I thought that was a great “in between” head making more power than replacement heads but not as exotic as the W heads. Seems it never really caught on.

No room for turbos under the hood?? It’s a 1970 RR with a 540 Hemi and twin 76s. All steel, even the hood and bumpers. 727 with a GV OD., 3.73 geared Dana 60.

Definitely! My buddy’s Chevelle has been 1.28 60’ and I’m gunning for him with 5.40s so I’ve got a long way to go for sure.

    360-1 on 48 deg. block

Yeah at one time they offered it in 59 degree and 48 degree versions. I don’t recall having to clearance much off the intake on a 9.6 block 48 degree deal. Using the Edelbrock Victor heads, I had to clearance the heads for the pushrods but no clearancing needed on the intake. Building a 650hp...

Are you dead set on using the Indy heads?

    360-1 on 48 deg. block

I used the Edelbrock Victor heads on the last one I built. Minimal clearancing.

I used Morel hydraulic rollers in the one I built. I’m sure they make a solid as well.

    Cam degree

The worst one I’ve had was 8 degrees off. Swapped timing sets and we were 2 degrees off, so a 6 degree variance between them. We also discovered a .005 dip after the lash ramp on a cam. It got sent back for replacement. Always check both intake and exhaust lobes.

    Cam degree

I knew they did that with the drivers of their late model mustangs but it usually doesn’t affect anything unless leaving a car show...

    Cam degree

You’re basically checking the accuracy of the crank key slot, timing chain set and the camshaft. Tolerance stack up could get you that far off as can any error in determining TDC.

As soon as they stray from that concept, interest drops. You’d think NHRA would have learned from NASCAR.

At 4.14, he’s the fastest on leafs. RVW record was set with a 3.61 yesterday. One of the grudge race wagers at SGMP this weekend was 150K alone. These guys are well funded.

If you’re a check writer, you are correct. We’re do it yourselfers because we can’t afford to be check writers.

The owner of the fox body LDR car that I built works for the USPS. The other 2400hp mustang I help with is owned by a service tech at a dealership. Both are hard working middle class guys. You don’t have to be a millionaire to do this but I’m sure it helps.

That’s his hair! You can see him watching in the bottom of the vid and then see his head as he runs toward the track and jumps the guard rail.

Remote kill switch is a good idea. Driver of black car never gets out. I’m betting he’s out cold from the hit or he’s in there hurt. That was a pretty good hit.

The most I’ve ever seen these turbos make is 2000fwhp. I’ll be happy if I get anywhere near 1800. I built a 440” Edelbrock Victor headed 48 degee R3 that I really wanted to strap these 76’s on. The 76s would be a much better match for the smaller cube engine. I’m a big fan of those 48 degree...

No, those are $8K, lol. This is a world products block that I scored new for $3500. 4.50 bore x 4.250 stroke. Crower center counterweight crank, Oliver rods, Diamond pistons, Edelbrock heads, Bullet solid roller cam, dry sump oiling and a cable drive fuel pump.
