Anybody ever use a Richmond 5 speed?

Hope they are better than their problematic 6 speeds... However I did have a Doug Nash 5 speed which was f***ing awesome with its close ratio and a 3:27 first gear and 1 to 1 5th gear. Richmond bought the toolings from Doug Nash and I've heard they are still the same. I ran a 2:76 rear end gear...

Best trans for a manuel swap?

T56 is the best trans as far as I am concerned and can be gotten around a grand if you shop. Both 5th and 6th are over drive .74 for 5th and .50 for 6th. I have one in my truck and cruise 90mph in 6th at 2000 rpm. I will be putting one in my 64 Signet, They are practically bulletproof and can...

    passion performance 5 speed

I hate going backwards and wouldn't go backwards for all the THC in Oregon. I guess having a 5 speed overdrive would be awesome if the last two gears were overdrives after all, the 727 does well with 3 speeds. Back in 1990 I ran a Nash 5 speed with 273 rear gears, got great gas mileage and came...

Funny you should say that IronMike in regards to the Muncie or the Borg Warner for that matter as I personally never worried about any American 4 speed from taking any amount of punishment.I'm sure in today's world some manufacturers are more into gear ratios rather then worrying about the...

New bolt in 5 spd from Mcloud

Though I pull no weight it would seem to me that a 2:66 first gear would run very nice with 3:55 rear gears. Around 1993 I ran a Doug Nash 5 speed in a 65 Barracuda using a 2:93 rear ratio and it came out of the chute like it was on fire. I have a T-56 6 speed I am considering doing something with.
