    Show That Lowered A-body!

I can see a DIY VINYL WRAP thread upcoming. I'm not to that stage but certainly will be considering it at some point.

The flat just makes body lines beautiful. Suits that car very well. I'm considering Hot Rod Flatz in a similar color for my 69 Dart. Never thought about lacquer. How's the upkeep?

    Need new suspension

Wish I were at the point I could say what the HDK does for handling. Might ask some of those who have done it. I'm sure you'd get some input on this thread: http://www.forabodiesonly.com/mopar/showthread.php?t=224738

245/45/18 is just under 27". Yes the camber bolts are in. I hear of others removing or shortening their bump stops and I see ride height with fenders covering tires (sublime69's is an example), so it seems like they are in this range. Were you able to get a ride height with the fender covering...

    Need new suspension

The first pic shows the ball joint at an angle where its about to impinge on itself. The 2x2 is there showing about 1.5" from tire to upper inner fender. This may be somewhat above the ride height I was going for with just a little of the tire covered by the fender. If I recall it was just...

    Need new suspension

I don't doubt your experience. I guess it means the parts were built strong enough to function in a position that would normally be the result of upward deflection. Are your control arms about level after lowering?

    Need new suspension

After seeing what the angle of the ball joint looks like with the rubber boot off when the factory suspension is lowered, you might consider other options. Maybe it works ok but I sure don't like the look of it. I can post a pic if you like.

HDK has become a very popular "go to" option. Love your car.

I know this is supposed to be about stance, but could you tell us about the paint? Is it flat? Car looks awesome.

Sounds like he did it for not much more than the cost of the vinyl. Google searching comes up with 3G and up. Might be a feasible DIY though. YouTube... Still need perfect primer and all the work preceding plus color where Denny mentioned. There's a very nice Dart wrapped in grey on here...

Lower control arm outer bushing shell removal frustration...

Just flipped through this thread again. Gotta give Andrev8 cudos for those cool welding pics. Someone mentioned needing a 1 3/8 bolt as if this were to be used after the tap. No bolt is needed. Thread in the tap and use it to push the bushing out. Works nicely. Cheap solution for those without...

    Hemidenny K member club?

I seem to recall a few of those "extra steps". My brain is too small to remember them all. Who knows what his fenders measure since I think they were sliced and diced too. Is it still a Duster? :dontknow:

Does look low :) I like it and thanks for posting that. Gives me perspective. Based on eye to eye with Denny's Duster at about 13.5, you are about 1.5 lower. Unless the slammer changes things. It looks like more than 1.5 difference but I think there is some illusion involved. Looks like Denny...

    Hemidenny K member club?

OK I get the eye to eye. I cannot measure that yet since mine is not installed. We were measuring from the car frame just rear of where it turns up in the front wheelwell area, mine and Denny's silver Duster coming in around the 7" mark so I imagine yours would be less (maybe 5.5" or so). Mine...

Thanks Ross. Is 12" the eye to eye measurement? I'm curious what your front frame to ground measurement will be and your tire height. Also, which HDK are you using?

My notes from back then say your tire was just over 27" tall. Mine is just under 27" ( 225 50 18 ). Should be in the ball park with room to adjust down an inch.

I don't know eye to eye. I had given you a measurement of 7" ground to frame behind the front wheel, which turned out to be similar to your silver Duster. From what I can tell this shock would be right. I may want to go an inch or so lower just to cover a little more of the tire.

Are those shocks fairly universal for the HDK? Been so long Denny you likely don't even recall my project, but wondering if these would be a good match.

I don't know the answer. I do know that a Hemi-Denny K takes care of the problem.

    Show That Lowered A-body!

I was doing some test fitting with the ball joint covers off. This is what I saw with the factory bump stop touching the frame, not compressed hard. Take note of the funky ball joint angle. I've not heard of any serious issues resulting from turning the suspension down, but I do wonder what it...
