Serious question: how close could you make your car look to a STOCK 383 Dart? Considering the manifold plan...paint the intake to match the engine, grind all the logos off, run stock valve covers (or the cheesiest 70s chrome covers you can find), stock 383 air cleaner and lid.

That was, what...a high-squeeze drag motor running avgas or race fuel (or alky), probably with a tunnel ram or a high-rise intake and a Dominator, cam that idles at 1700rpm, and big-tube open headers? I can't imagine that was in any way a street engine.

You don't gain almost half a second and 2MPH from losing 50lbs.

I think it has reached the point that for about the same cost as rebuilding stock heads (especially if they have to be shipped), you can get a pair from 440 Source or the like for the same money.
