    stock to aluminum heads

If you aren't going to change the pistons you might not see much of a benefit. Aluminum is so conductive that you really need to increase the compression ratio 1 to 2 points when switching from iron to aluminum heads. Also, although these heads are considered ready to bolt on, they often...

    Drag Week Unlimited Duster

This thread reminds me of the old phrase. "Race cars run on money." Keep the posts coming. I love the quality and effort that you've put into this build. Regards, Joe Dokes

    temperature question

A few observations: 1. Generally speaking a hotter motor produces less engine wear. Engine wear at 160 is MUCH greater than at 210. In my view a H20 temp of 185 is a good compromise between wear and HP. One reason (there are others as well) that today's cars run at 210 is that it leads to...

    5.7 Hemi Racers

The factory PCM was never designed with bracket racing in mind so holding you to .02 might be impossible. You might try posting this question over on one of the lx forums where some bracket race late model hemis. According to this thread temperature control is a key to consistency, this...

    look no hands

Looks good. Best of luck with the build. I believe Duster Doug is correct about the pistons being so far down in the hole. The reason for this is Mopar was forced to drop the compression on all motors pretty severely beginning in '72, the same year they introduced the 400. A couple of...

    Drag Week Unlimited Duster

That last photo simply looks spectacular, with the two blower intakes sitting there. This is the hardest of hardcore car ****. Thanks again. Best of luck at drag week. They say luck favors the prepared, looks like your going to be well prepared. If my latin is correct the phrase "Semper...

    for the corner carvers! RTTS

I think the stance will look even better with the back end dropped another 1 to 2 inches. I really like the nearly stock exterior, clean unobtrusive with just a subtle paint scheme and wheels and tires that convey a strictly business attitude. No Ricky Racer TRYING to look fast, just all...

aluminum rods on a street car

I think it's all about the quality of the aluminum rod, if the rod is simply cut from plate, it'll break, if the rod is forged it will last. The BME rods are forged. Thus, they last. They are also more expensive. Go figure, sometimes you do get what you pay for. Regards, Joe Dokes

    Drag Week Unlimited Duster

I am always amazed, jealous, astounded, and impressed with people who will spend six figures or near six figures to win a jacket. I tip my hat to you sir, that car is going to be stooooopid fast. Best of luck, Regards, Joe Dokes
