Sounds like you are getting closer. What's the condition of your fuel filter ? They are cheap, just put a new Wix filter on.

When you hit the throttle, are you getting any fuel from the pump nozzle ? If the carb has been sitting for awhile, it can become clogged with old fuel. Simply remove it, and blow it out with compressed air, and a tiny drill bit or wire. In regards to the fuel pump, you wouldn't be the first...

Yes. Into the primaries, which are the front two holes of the carb.

Prime the carb with some gas. Get a small container like this filled with gas. Pour some gas on each side of the primaries (front two sides) of your Edelbrock. Fire the car up. This should get you on your way.

Can't say I've done any testing on the knock off, but I'm sure I've talked Chit about it. :p From what I've read, they work pretty well for the money. Do a little interweb search, I'm sure there will be a thousand hits on it.

I think you made a good/wise decision running the factory intake, and not cutting the LD340. The LD is turning into a highly desirable intake, and will be worth more uncut.

If you must, use the proper thread sealant, and NOT silicone or rtv

There is absolutely No reason to Goop the bolts with anything. Back the bolts out, put on your bracket, and torque to spec. Done

Stock 1970 318 Edelbrock Performer intake. Edelbrock 600cfm carb. 340 Hi-Po manifolds. Dual exhaust/H pipe Chrysler Electronic ign. Chrysler 4bbl kickdown. This was an older set up I put together, and it would roast the peg leg all the way down the street.
